The Book, The Blood, and The Blessed Hope :: By Clay Smith

The Book, The Blood, and The Blessed Hope

I was listening to one of my end-time Bible teachers from another prophecy site recently, when Geoff mentioned these three words. Suddenly, my spirit just connected and I thought, this is my next article that I should write. They just jumped out at me; wow, this is fantastic and I should share them!

This is also an example of how we should be in tune with the Lord in our daily walk and receive his word and instructions in what he has for us. We are forever growing in his knowledge and wisdom if we just offer ourselves to our Lord while we are on the potter’s wheel.

These words are the theological personal truths we have trusted our earthly life and eternal life to (Eph. 1:13).

As believers, if we didn’t have these three truths, we would be most miserable. The secular world, or non-believers, are already miserable to some degree in their lives, even if they have fame, riches, and so-called bliss. What is there hope in, or who, at the end of their existence? Are they just dust in the wind with a hopeless life that doesn’t profit anything that lasts? Even memories don’t last. It holds true still today; you can’t take it with you. This life here is temporary happiness for a few years; is this you? If so, this article is for you.

I remember when my dad died over 30 years ago; I wasn’t a Christian then. In his casket, I placed a golf club because he played and loved golf so much. The scene that I really remember from the service is seeing the pastor shake his head in sorrow and disbelief.

The sad reality is that I don’t believe my dad or mom were saved. Only God knows. Of course, I didn’t grow up in a Christian home, but I went to church a few times. The only thing leaving this earth when you die is your spirit – nothing else; the body goes back to dust.

In other words, to place your life and trust in these three: the Book, the Blood, and the Blessed Hope, will give you peace and security that will never end.

Here is one biblical example of another “three:”

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” (1 John 5:7).

Consider this: I’m speaking to us now in present time:

-God gave us (mankind) his “Book,” the Bible—the words of life—his truth. This is called authority of scripture.

-God gave us his Son, Jesus Christ, who went to the cross willingly and shed his “Blood” so that all those who would place their trust in him would inherit eternal life (John 3:16).

-With that, we have the “Blessed Hope.” “Looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and Saviour Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13).

We are eagerly waiting for our Lord to come and take us, the believers, the church, his bride, to glory.

“Then we which are alive shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1Thessalonians 4:17).

“Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory (Psalm 73:24).

He will deliver us from the wrath to come. “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ” (1Thessalonians 5:9).

We will not have to go through the terrible Tribulation period that will last seven years. Look up some of the other writers’ great articles on the “Tribulation Period or Day of the Lord” for an exhaustive review.

Promise of eternal life

Aren’t these encouraging words for all of us? They contain promises, hope, peace, security, and eternal life. Ask God to open your eyes and ears to his truth so that you can have what we have. I want to be an encourager and bring you this joy and peace that is everlasting. These words are to be a comfort to you because these three biblical truths will remain with us throughout all eternity. Look up these scriptures I’m giving you; you can confirm this with God’s word. They will set you free.

We already have the book: This Book tells of His Word, the Blood, and the Blessed Hope:

-which is the truth

-which is forever

-which contains the story (narrative) about the blood that washes away our sins for salvation, and the blessed hope (Jesus) who is coming back soon.

Did you know the Bible is the #1 selling book of all time, and nothing comes even remotely close? Wonder why? It tells the story of the beginning of history to the end in the canonical writings. A Savior would come and he would have to go to the cross to save us from our sins and reconcile us to him. Christ paid that debt at Calvary for us 2,000 years ago.

This was prophesied thousands of years ago beginning in the Old Testament or Covenant. I can fill up this page in referencing the scriptures about God’s Word in that book.

For ex. (John 17:17) “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”

That book is our life manual. The Bible displays divine clarity of scripture; thus, there is no error in it. The scriptures are plenary or full. They are God’s words, the overall theme being his reaching out to sinful man to bring us to forgiveness and to eternal life.

God knew that we had to have his book, the Word—the words of truth and life that would speak of the coming salvation for all mankind. He loved his word more than his name.

Psalms 138:2 “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”

This is a Psalm of David where he is singing praises to his God with rejoicing in his whole heart. Every ounce of his being is showing his love at this moment to the one true God who created him, and it’s being done through song. We know that all of God’s word is given by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to the authors who penned them. What I am saying is this: God reveals to us a huge pause moment at this time here saying stop and get this!

God is revealing to us that He treasures his Word more than his Name. Let that sink in! The “I Am,” “YHWH (Yahweh/Jehovah)” and others (see this link for the names of God and their meanings) are not quite as precious as his word is. I love, cherish, and believe every word in the Bible down to the last jot and tittle. We all should.

Without the blood that our Savior shed that day, we all would be lost and just passing through this earthly life with no hope. But:

Ephesians 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.” Thus, eternal life in Glory.

Then with excitement and wonder, we look for the Blessed Hope – Christ is coming back again! First he will appear in the clouds to catch up his believers in the rapture and take them to heaven with him, and then seven years later he will return with them at his Second Coming.

Though no man knows the day or the hour, it appears we are very close to his return because these days we live in the prophesied perilous times exactly as described in his Word. The “end times” are apparently upon us. There are so many signs converging quickly, and scripture is being fulfilled. There are articles written on this by other writers that are excellent.

So, without these three: the Book; the Blood; and the Blessed Hope, we have nothing. I encourage you to get into “the book” and learn about all three that I have shared. If you haven’t made a decision for Christ in your life yet, you still have time to do that now. If you have done this and for some reason you are not sure of your salvation, do it again. We all doubt our salvation at some point, because we are human and fallible; I sure am.

Don’t wait or put it off; you don’t know how much time there is left till your time is up, or the rapture takes place. That literally could be any second. I hope that this has been an inspiration for all who read this article. It’s a blessing that Rapture Ready has given me the opportunity to share God’s truth with you in this way.

All Scripture comes from the King James Version of the Bible

May the Lord bless and keep you.
