Anything But Unaware: Part One

By Cynthia Nuara

It takes a lot these days for me to overcome writer’s block. Well, a lot has happened, so here I am with Part One of two…at least.  Even then I’m going to have to limit myself on the topics for discussion.  Let’s see, where to begin…Oh yes!  Here’s a real goodie that shows just how much PC (political correctness) has filled up the PC (public commode)!

Do you think those at the Lake Worth, Florida Police Commissioner’s Meeting walked out because they were upset that an atheist was about to give the invocation? If so, no No! Think again, my friend. They had a good reason to walk out, but it’s not what you may think. And I will get to that, but first let’s take a look at some definitions of the word invocation.

·         Chant; incantation; prayer; spell; charm; summons.

·         The act of mentioning or referring to someone/something in support of your ideas.

·         The act of invoking something.

·         The act of asking for help or support especially from a god.

·         A prayer for blessing or guidance at the beginning of a service, ceremony, etc.

Since atheist and prayer don’t go together, they certainly wouldn’t have expected atheist, Preston Smith, to actually say a meaningful prayer.  What’s that saying?  Oh yes, “Be careful what you ask for; you may just get it.”  He tried to fit in as many false gods as possible in his blasphemous mockery of the one true God.

Have you ever noticed that atheists get so angry at the mention of God?  Why?  If they claim not to believe in God, that’s their right.  But why get so angry when He is mentioned?  Hold that thought for later.  Anyway, here’s what Smith spewed out:

“Mother Earth, we gather today in your redeeming and glorious presence, to invoke your eternal guidance in the universe, the original Creator of all things.  May the efforts of this council blend the righteousness of Allah with the all-knowing wisdom of Satan.  May Zeus, the great God of justice, grant us strength tonight.  Jesus might forgive our shortcomings while Buddha enlightens us through His divine affection.

We praise you, Krishna, for the sanguine sacrifice that freed us all.  After all, if Almighty Thor is with us, who can ever be against us?  And finally, for the bounty of logic, reason, and science, we simply thank the atheists, agnostics, Humanists, who now account for 1 in 5 Americans, and [are] growing rapidly.

In closing, let us, above all, love one another, not to obtain mythical rewards for ourselves now, hereafter, or based on superstitious threats of eternal damnation, but rather, embrace secular-based principles of morality — and do good for goodness’ sake.  And so we pray, ‘So what!’”

Mayor Pam Triolo said she was unaware that others would walk out along with her.  One commissioner stayed, Christopher McVoy, who said it was un-American for anyone to walk out.  Let me try to restrain myself here and just say, “Um um um!”

The three commissioners who walked out made no comment as to why they did so, but the mayor gave her reasons.  And what she said lets me know that none of them would have walked out just because an atheist was about to pray, invoke, chant or whatever.

In a telephone interview with WPTV Channel 5, Triolo said, “We’re a diverse, tolerant city.  We've had Wiccans, Quakers, Muslims and atheists deliver invocations.  This had nothing to do with religion or anyone's beliefs...I left because of vile, offensive comments [Smith tweeted in July] about rape.  I don’t find sexual assault funny or a joking matter in any way.”

Oh, so it’s just fine to have atheistic or false god invocations opening Lake Worth's official meetings?+Are any of them aware, or do they not care what God’s Word tells us in Galatians 6:7?  “Do not be deceived:  God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.”

So, what was it that caused the three commissioners and the mayor to walk out just before Smith spoke?  I read an article the other day that Smith had made an offensive remark towards President Obama’s daughter in July. But it was someone else’s daughter to which he referred.

This is from a July 10, 2014 article at TheOtherMcCain.com:  “Preston Smith [@common alias] is an atheist progressive supporter of Hillary Clinton’s incipient 2016 presidential campaign.  C. Steven Tucker [@CSteven] is a Chicago businessman, Tea Party activist and ObamaCare critic.

Wednesday afternoon, Tucker sent out a Twitter message about calls to impeach President Obama.  Smith responded with a sick comment CC’d to Tucker’s wife, Andrea, that appeared to be a rape threat directed at one of their teenage daughters.”

The article shows the post itself, which was in reference to a photo of Tucker’s wife and three children:  “Preston [@common_alias] July 9, 2014:  ‘I'd hit that and make her my wifey.  After all, god (lower case) said…’”

Below this comment Smith posted an atheist billboard that said, “Lonely? Need a companion?  Rape any hot virgin and get a wife.  Deuteronomy 22:28-29 – God.”  This was Smith’s perverse interpretation of an Old Testament Law concerning sexual immorality.

Yes, Smith’s July tweet was very offensive.  So why, months later, was this man invited to give the invocation at the Lake Worth Police Commissioner’s Meeting?  Politically correct invocations in the name of tolerance occur before official meetings elsewhere as well by those who worship anything or nothing; we’re just not made aware of it.

These outrageous news stories weren’t reported in the mainstream media that my research has shown, except locally. No surprise there.  I’m sure that if someone claiming to be Christian would have done something they considered offensive, the mainstream press would have been all over it, and that person would not have been invited to such a meeting.

In Conclusion

There are no such things as atheists. They know intuitively that God exists, because He gave everyone a “conscience.” They have the “work of the law written on their hearts” (Romans 2:15).

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.  For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.  For His invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.  So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.  Claiming to be wise, they became fools” (Romans 1:18-22).

From Franklin Graham:  “One of the most sinister and menacing threats to our society today lurks under the lethal guise of two small initials—PC.  I’m talking about political correctness—the maddening and prevailing public sentiment of offending no one (except Christians).

It has infected our schools, government, universities, and the marketplace, leaving no room for moral absolutes or the authoritative truth of Scripture… Wishing to offend no one, our nation’s politicians, leaders, and decision-makers now stand for absolutely nothing.  The very foundation of our Judeo-Christian morality is severely threatened.”

“And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:13).

“For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light” (Luke 8:17).

Jesus, God in the flesh, said, “Blessed is he who does not take offense at Me” (Matthew 11:6).
