The very first institution God designed for mankind was the family. God designed the family with one father (male) and one mother (female). God then said to them, “… Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:28) “And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.” (Genesis 1:31)
From our original parents, Adam and Eve, the family was born. They had children. Their children had children, and thus it has been since that time. Father, mother and children compose this God ordained institution. When God looked upon everything that He had made, He obviously included the family unit, and declared that it was good.
God displays his handiwork, from the heavens to the earth and by everything we see around us in nature, to prove to us that He is God and He is real (Romans 1:19). He shows us the way to the cross and how to fellowship with Him, from the tabernacle in the wilderness (Exodus 25 and following). He gives us a glimpse of His righteousness in what we call the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20 and following). So what does this have to do with the family?
I believe that in this God-ordained institution we call the family God displays His inner relationship with Himself, and this is how the family should function.
In the book of Ephesians the family structure is clearly explained, and no, this is not the Apostle Paul’s opinion, this is the Word of God.
The wife submits to the husband as Jesus, the Son, submits to the Father. Yet notice that they are one. The husband and wife are one, meaning they are equal, but yet one submits to the other. God the Son and God the Father are one, meaning they are equal, but yet one submits to the other. The Son loves the Father, and the Father loves the Son. Jesus said that He was going about His Father’s business. He submitted to the Father’s will, but they are one. The Holy Spirit submits to the Son. He desires to glorify the Son and the Son glorifies the Father. There are not three Gods; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, but there is one God, with three purposes. The Scripture says of the husband and wife, “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.” (Ephesians 5:31) In our case, we are one in importance, but serve two purposes.
The children in the home are to be obedient to their parents, as the Church is to obey its Lord and be under His authority. Discipline is administered if necessary, but only in love and for the purpose of benefiting the child and/or Church.
This family structure, that God has instituted and ordained, is under attack by every demon from hell. The divorce rate for Christians equals the divorce rate for those who are not, 50%.
Homosexuality is bringing down the walls of the family home. Living together in fornication is ripping out the windows.
It is nothing unusual for every child in the household to have a different daddy. Child abuse and spouse abuse, both mental and physical, are off the charts.
Drugs are destroying any hint of stability in the home. Often one or both parents are in prison on drug charges, and the children are hooked on drugs before they are even born.
Children are being murdered every day before they are allowed to be born. Over 4,000 abortions are performed each day in this country alone.
Multiplied thousands of people in this country have never been to church. They have no Bible in their home, and of course, have never read one.
To the contrary, every home has at least one or two television sets, a computer(s), cell phones, and electronic games.
From this lack of God and over abundance of Satan in the homes of America, the parental structure is being ripped to shreds, the children are raised on godless nonsense, profanity, and sexual experiences, from home to school and back, that would gag a maggot.
Satan is having a field day with an institution that God considers holy. As previously stated, Christian homes are not exempt. The Church is being affected by this satanic attack also.
In closing, God wants us to see the importance of the family structure. It is all about true love and submission. The Godly example is where our family should be. If it isn’t, we need to get to work immediately, before we lose it all together.
