I am aware that people only see or understand what they want to see or understand; never through the lens of God. There are many that go to church every Sunday morning and evening and also go to the middle of the week for Bible study and still: They are not saved by Jesus Christ. Now that is amazing! How can anyone be so involved with their church and never come to the saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?
Okay, call me “old school,” whatever! It still boggles my mind.
Matthew 18.20:
“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
If you believe the Word of God, the Bible is the inerrant Word of God to us. Then how can anyone sit in church, participate in the activities, be a member of the congregation and never come to Jesus Christ? How can anyone accept the communion of Christ and never know who HE truly is?
How is it, that these individuals feel they are “good enough” and that God would accept them in their present state of unbelief? This is not so my friends! The Bible is very specific. And God is very specific on this matter; you must come to the cross of Jesus Christ, ask HIM to forgive you of all your sins, be cleansed by HIS blood and then hang your old self on that cross and leave it there. You are then a “new creation” by God’s perfect will.
I receive many comments from people who say they “know” the Bible and yet the composure in their writings says everything but that. Has it ever occurred to them that they could be wrong? It is a fact, that when one comes to the saving grace of Jesus Christ─when Jesus Christ lays the burden of telling others on your heart─following Jesus Christ, studying HIS Word, praying for HIS Wisdom and discernment is paramount.
And still the tirades continue. I must of course block them. If for no other reason, they have become a stumbling block in the road. Time is of the essence nowadays. Jesus Christ is the only release from the burden of sin and this world’s problems. There is no time for useless discussion with people that wish only to denigrate others, or profess strange doctrine and teachings. The burden of sin is the reason for the ills of this world, from earthquakes to rampant disease.
It says in James 5.14:
“Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.”
We already know that the Lord Jesus Christ is God and therefore the creator HE is. The only one that can cure whatever ails us.
In Jeremiah 33.6, emphasis added:
“Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.”
Taking this verse as truth, we see that the Lord will reveal unto them “peace and truth” that can be only one truth, and God’s holy Word is that. As we already know, the Word of God is God. It says so in the very beginning of Genesis. Along with these verses, we have seen that the Lord walked the earth, preaching and teaching and healing.
Now it must be noted that the Lord did so through touch, the laying on of hands. Jesus also healed because of an individual’s faith that HE would do what HE said HE would do. The last one was the soldier and his servant (if you need reference).
The point to everything I write is this, John 15.5:
“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
That is not a question or a reference it is the absolute truth. We cannot do a single thing without Jesus Christ! Take a moment and think for a minute. Who gives you the next breath of air? Who allows your heart to continue to beat, your lungs to breathe air, you brain to function? You didn’t do any of this. It’s been God all the time. This lays bare the statement of who the Creator is.
It lays bare the fact that we were created for HIS pleasure and that to live, we must come to HIM. There is no other way. Haven’t you ever wondered why disease and physical anomalies are so hideous? They are the work of Satan and his ilk. They are the result of our sin, so dark and ominous, and there is only one Savior for any of this: Jesus Christ and no other. Do you ever take into account, why, we as humans fail so miserably at almost everything we do?
Have you ever noticed that nothing is truly new; it has all been here from the very beginning? Have you ever once asked, “Where do all the doubt, misgivings, misunderstanding and miscalculations originate from?”
We miss so much in the Word of God, because we fail to read it. Having first asked the Lord for HIS wisdom and discernment, I know that since I have been born-again to Jesus Christ, that I can read John 3:16 and see new meanings, deeper in this verse than I did the very first time I read it.
This is evidence that anyone can be forgiven if they follow Jesus Christ. The next thing is, absolute faith in Jesus Christ. Give it a shot and try this! Find someone that is not saved to Jesus Christ ask them to read a verse they don’t know and then explain what they have read to you.
Then go home, go in the bedroom and close the door, get on your knees and pray. Ask for the Lord’s wisdom and understanding. Then to your amazement, read that same verse and you will see it open up farther and farther, deeper and deeper. When the Lord asked you “not to lean unto your own understanding” He wasn’t whistling Dixie!
Those that have never been saved by Jesus Christ will never be able to read the Word of God and make any sense of it. That honor is saved for you, the born-again believer! Believe me when I say, the unsaved individual will do or say anything they can, to persuade you into thinking that they know what they are talking about. The point is this. The truth is not in them.
God told us so. And when HE told us to test anything and everyone against what HIS word says, if it is not of the Lord, it will fail every time! Having said all this, does it make our reading of the Bible even more important? I can’t think of anything more important. Not even death.
Another thing, we are God’s creation and HE created us for a purpose, to grow and learn and then read the Bible and come to HIM. What have we done instead? Everything else. And then we wonder why we have the problems we do?
James 4.6-8, emphasis ended:
“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”
There’s your answer to every single problem you could ever have. And yet, how many people use that verse? Here is the crux of the matter never to be taken lightly.
James 4.3:
“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.”
The point here is this: Coming to Jesus Christ, asking for HIS forgiveness of your sin and following HIM in your life is wisdom of the Lord. When you have this wisdom, you tend not to make the same mistakes you did in the past. The point is this: You begin to learn how not to ask amiss. It is true. The Lord knows all things, including the desires of your heart, but HE still wants you to come to him in prayer and ask for them.
Having the wisdom of the Lord will then show how sin makes our lives worse. How it separates us in our relationship with the Lord and that it is our fault when that separation exists. Yet the Lord will repair it for us when we come to HIM and ask forgiveness for our sin. As the verses above have shown, we can bring our diseases to HIM as well. We are able to bring everything to HIM and know HE will deal with it according to HIS perfect will.
Will HE cure every single disease? Yes, if it is according to HIS Will. Will HE heal every single person dying of a disease like perhaps cancer? If it is according to HIS perfect will. But then if HE chooses not to cure you, it is your appointed time to go home and be with HIM in Heaven.
I would rather die easily and peacefully, knowing at that micro, millisecond of my death, HE will be there with me, and to heaven we shall go. This is the truth of the Bible. This is the truth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and everyone in the world needs to know this.
