How is it that a world that has been given everything can work so hard toward losing it all? That may sound like a strange question but that is exactly what’s happening in many countries, states and cities all over the world today. When God created this earth, he created it perfectly and with such beauty in all the lands, trees, flowers, sky, waters and even with people and animals of the earth.
In Genesis 1:26-27 God says “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
So again, we were made perfect and given everything, and yet, too many people refuse to recognize this truth and mankind has worked for over six thousand years to conform to this world in the way man desires rather than to please God who created us. Satan is the prince of the earth and his job is to corrupt mankind and turn them away from God. Believe it or not, we can control Satan to some degree if not completely if we simply accept Jesus Christ as our Savior and live our lives to please Him according to His Word.
There is such power in the name of Jesus and in His blood for us to use as our defense against evil. James 4:7 says: “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
Now what does it mean to resist? It does not mean to compromise, it simply means acknowledge the temptations of the devil and refuse it in the name of Jesus. There are various ways to fight evil but use the name of Jesus to do it.
Examples:
a) A co-worker invites you to a strip bar to celebrate a promotion, you know that it’s wrong so your answer should be “No” or suggest to celebrate at a restaurant over dinner. Satan will try to put in your mind “Go for it, you deserve it” or others things to get you to do what’s wrong.
b) A boss talks down to you or denies a request; Satan will put hate in your mind trying to get you to curse your boss or even get revenge somehow. Instead you should pray about the situation and pray for your boss. These are just a couple of the many ways the devil will try to get us to do wrong in hope that we will disobey God or even fall away from our relationship with Him. The more we pray, read the Bible and resist evil, the easier it will become to reject his temptations and walk in joy with the Lord.
To get back on track with “A Falling World” the standards and morals are almost unseen. Television commercials and shows every day are a clear indication of the moral decay of this world with such things as sex-related products, Viagra, condoms, under garments and sexual clothing appeal for adults and even children, homosexual acceptance in our communities; schools, churches, families, etc. I had not intended on placing such emphasis on homosexuality but this has become such a large issue in today’s society with many people coming out of their closets and openly claiming to be gay and this sinful world seems to accept it so much. So with that said, as a Christian, I must tell the truth regardless of how many may disagree.
Homosexuality is condemned by God. 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10 says, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, [homosexuals] nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”
If you look up the word effeminate, this is a homosexual or a man with many characteristics of a woman, etc. To elaborate even further, Romans 1:25-27 goes into more detail:
“Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.”
I recommend searching the Bible to find more on this. Now that I’ve gotten that out, I will say that as Christians we can do our best if given the opportunity to help these individuals. Speak the truth to those who will hear it, invite them to church so they can hear the word of God and after sewing a little seed into their mind and hearts, let the Holy Spirit do the rest.
Many other indicators of a falling world are all around us the news you see on television every day. You can listen to the news at any given time during any given day to hear the types of distress and complexity we face in every county of the world. We hear of hurricanes, tsunami’s, earthquakes, mudslides, plane crashes, lone shooters killing in schools, churches, grocery stores, homes, etc. rape, murder, war, rumors of war, nuclear weapons, disobedience among our youth, drug usage, hate between world leaders, human trafficking and many more not mentioned.
You would have to be both deaf and blind to not know how far we have fallen away from God or any descent type of morals and standards. All this will just continue to get worse as we move closer and closer to the return of Christ. Time is literally running out and if you are not serving the Lord yet, the time to do so is now. May God truly bless you and may the Holy Spirit work in your life to draw you or others around you near to our Lord and Savior!
