“They have misled My people by saying, ‘Peace!’ when there is no peace. And when anyone builds a wall, behold, they plaster it over with whitewash” (Ezekiel 13:10).
Israel’s president, Shimon Peres, recently said: “Israel and Iran are not enemies.” He also said, “Russia and China don’t want Iran to have a nuclear bomb…”
What? Russia has long been assisting Iran in developing nuclear weapons, giving both money and support. China is enlisting North Korea’s help in providing Iran with its most advanced intercontinental ballistic missiles and the technical expertise to make those nuclear warhead-capable missiles operational. Also, China is threatening to come to Iran’s defense if its missile or nuclear sites are attacked.
Peres also addressed the state of Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, saying peace was possible, but, “It’s complicated to negotiate, not only with the other side but also with your own people, to convince them that it’s a plan that will make them safe.”
How often has tiny Israel tried appeasement in our time – giving up control of the Temple Mount and with land for peace deals entered into with the “assistance” of the US.? How has that worked out? They’re already a speck compared to the nations that surround her that hate her and want her gone. Now Israel faces sanctions imposed upon it that would be very detrimental to her economy if another land for peace deal is not reached soon.
When mankind trusts Man instead of God, the results are never good. World War II is just one example from modern times. Neville Chamberlain, prime minister of Britain, thought he had appeased Hitler with the Munich Pact. Chamberlain even announced that he had “secured peace in our time.” We know how that turned out! Hitler had no intention of keeping his promise.
Appeasement does not work – never has, never will. It just makes the appeaser appear weak and vulnerable, leading to exploitation by the enemy. “Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”
“They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ when there is no peace” (Jeremiah 6:14).
The world has reached the boiling point, just as it did in the days of Noah. Israel and the world at large will soon put their trust in the Antichrist, signing a covenant with death and hell.
“Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week (of years); but in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, even until the consummation, which is determined, is poured out on the desolate.”
The world will be saying, “Peace and safety!” But…
“While they are saying, ‘Peace and safety!’ then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape’” (1 Thessalonians 5:3).
Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
