When I first started working on this article I put it aside. It troubled me that I was getting too political. But I kept thinking if people don’t speak out nothing is going to change. So here it is.
I was enjoying breakfast at a local restaurant when I overheard a group of men at an adjacent table discussing the Republican nomination for President of the U.S. One man said, “I may not have the right attitude, but I am really enjoying the way Donald Trump is calling out the Republicans. They need something to wake them up.”
I thought, I feel just like he does. I don’t know how I will vote in 2016 (if there is an election in 2016), but I am ready to vote for anyone who doesn’t have (Dem.) or (Rep.) after their name.
Our nation is in trouble: spiritually, morally, economically, and militarily and every way we look at it. Many voters know it. Many are concerned, turned off, dissatisfied and just plain fed up. Many are desperate for a leader to rise up and straighten things out.
Hey! This sounds like the kind of situation that will exist when the Antichrist rises to power. People will be so disgusted with their leaders they will be willing to give power to anyone except those who are in office. Just let the right person rise to power with a promise of peace while magnifying himself and that person will win (Dan. 9:24-27; 11:37).
In the last election, many Republicans promised to get rid of Obamacare; to stop runaway spending; to close America’s borders; to rebuild America’s military; to put America back to work, etc. The voters believed and elected these Republicans. But the Republicans have not kept their promises.
And it is more than being dishonest. In addition to showing that they cannot be trusted, it seems that some have decided to become an extension of the Obama Administration. When Pres. Obama can’t get enough Democrats to vote for his bills—that is not a problem—because there are always enough Republicans to make sure Obama’s bills get passed anyway.
In case anyone is wondering, there is a difference between the two parties: Pres. Obama creates the legislation and the Republicans pass it. This chicanery (deceit) has caused many in the Republican base to distrust their elected officials.
But deceit is an end-of-the-age sign and the Bible teaches that the Rapture of the Church is the Christian’s Blessed Hope and not politicians who promise one thing and do something else (Titus 2:13).
Donald Trump rightly sized-up this voter dissatisfaction. He entered the campaign for the Republican nomination for President of the U.S. by saying he wants to save America. Multitudes of troubled Republican voters quickly flocked to him.
It was a good opportunity for the Republicans to recognize that they had made a mistake and to try harder to keep their promises. But they didn’t. Instead of letting the voter dissatisfaction awaken them, several Republicans decided to act like they haven’t done anything wrong and to demonize Trump.
Sen. John McCain (definitely a war hero, but an unpopular politician who caused a lot of voters to stay home when he ran for president) called Trump’s followers crazies.
Sen. Lindsey Graham called Trump a Jacka** (I’ll say donkey). Gov. Rick Perry called him a cancer. Sen. Rand Paul called Trump’s rise in popularity a temporary loss of sanity. And multitudes accused Trump of damaging the Republican brand.
Wrong! The Republican brand was already damaged when Trump entered the race.
Some Republicans damaged it when they voted for bills they haven’t read, when they raised the debt ceiling, funded abortion, funded Obamacare, gave Pres. Obama fast-track authority to negotiate the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), allowed him to take away the rights of citizens with executive orders and said nothing, etc.
Some Republicans damaged their brand because they haven’t tried to stop Obama’s destruction of America. And now they are trying to keep from being held accountable at the next election.
Rather than admit that they are wrong, some Republicans have resorted to calling the voters names and demonizing Trump for tapping into voter anger. Trump’s choice of words could be better and the same can be said about some of the Republicans.
Are Christians and others crazy, insane or out of touch for thinking there is something wrong in Washington? The words of Trump’s opponents leave a lot to be desired, too. What is the Republican brand anyway?
Don’t candidates have freedom of speech anymore? Is someone trying to tell the candidates what they can and cannot say? Do we have a shadow government that draws up approved talking points? Is someone trying to bring political parties and people like Donald Trump under control?
The word “devil” means deceiver. Satan is the master of deceit. He wants a world government. It is a goal of the United States. It is in the UN Charter.
Many Republicans and Democrats are cooperating with each other to establish one. If someone like Trump comes along that these Globalists can’t control, they will try to make sure that that person doesn’t win.
