“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12).
There is controversy surrounding the King James Version’s rendering of the Hebrew word הֵילֵל (hêlēl) as referring to Satan in Isaiah 14:12: “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!” I have no intention of getting into that debate here – only to say that, used as an adjective, the Latin word “lucifer” means “light bearer.” For a full explanation of Isaiah 14:12, go to biblehub.com and scroll down to read Gill’s Exposition of the Bible’s explanation. My focus here is to discuss a deception perpetrated by Satan to fool the world — and he’s using religion to accomplish this goal.
“And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds” (2 Corinthians 11:14-15).
I’ve written about the Jesuits and the Roman Catholic Church before. However, recent events have caused me to feel the need to revisit the subject and expound upon it a bit more.
Most have heard by now of the Lucifer 2 Large Binocular Telescope located next to the Vatican Observatory in Arizona. It is manned by Catholics of the Jesuit Order who have taken a lead role in the pursuit of extraterrestrial life. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Pope Francis, who is also from the Jesuit order, says that if extraterrestrials came here and asked to be baptized, he would baptize them.
UFO GUARDIANS?
Here is a paraphrased quote from Monsignor Corrado Balducci, a Roman Catholic theologian of the Vatican Curia, who died in 2008.
It is probable that there are other beings. That is not very strange, because there is too much discrepancy between human and angelic nature, of which we have the theological certainty. And since in man, the spirit is subordinate to matter, and since the angels are alone spirit, it is probable that beings exist with very much less body and matter than we have. They could be those that we call UFO, these persons that would appear with these wagons, and that also have not only one science, but a natural ability to be our guardians.” —Wikipedia.com
ADDING RELIGIOUS INFO FROM ALIENS TO THE BIBLE?
Christian authors, Cris Putnam and Thomas Horn, wrote Exo Vaticana. On the cover of the book is this quote from Vatican Astronomer [Connected With Opus Dei], Fr. Giuseppe Tanzella-Nitti: “Christians will not immediately need to renounce their faith in God “simply on the basis of the reception of [this] new, unexpected information of a religious character from extraterrestrial civilizations.” However, once the “religious content” originating from outside the earth “has been verified” they will have to conduct “a re-reading [of the gospel] inclusive of the new data…”
If you want to read Tanzella-Nitti’s exact words, in which he said the same thing, only more densely worded, go to INTERS – Interdisciplinary Encyclopedia of Religion and Science, edited by G. Tanzella-Nitti and A. Strumia, at inters.org (6th paragraph from the end).
As for Tanzella-Nitti’s statement that the religious information outer space aliens will give us will need to be added to the Bible, or cause the Bible to be changed — read the following Scriptures to see if God’s Word would agree with that statement:
“What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done; and there is nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9).
“Do not add to His words, lest He rebuke you and you be found a liar” (Proverbs 30:6).
“For I testify unto every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book” (Revelation 22:18-19).
In an interview titled, “The Extraterrestrial Is My Brother,” director of the Vatican’s Observatory, Fr. José Gabriel Funes, said that believing in the possible existence of extraterrestrials “Does not contrast with our faith…To say it with St. Francis, if we can consider some earthly creatures as ‘brothers’ or ‘sisters,’ why could we not speak of a ‘brother alien’? He would also belong to the creation.’” —PadreFunes.blogspot.com
What does the Roman Catholic Church teach about God’s creation, and does it mesh with the Scriptures? Let’s take a look at their teaching, and then look at what the Holy Bible says.
From Catholic Answers: “Concerning human evolution, the Church has a more definite teaching. It allows for the possibility that man’s body developed from previous biological forms, under God’s guidance…”
From Catholic News: “While apes evolved naturally into pre-human creatures, it was the will and desire of God that turned them into humans. The formation of human beings necessitated a particular contribution by God, though it remains that their emergence was brought about by natural causes of evolution….At some point God willed a spark of intelligence to light up in the mind of a nonhuman hominid and thus came into existence the human as a being, as a subject capable of thought and the ability to decide freely.” — CatholicNews.com
Guy Consolmagno, a Jesuit research astronomer and planetary scientist at the Vatican Observatory, appeared on the Colbert Report TV show (see the video on the National Jesuit News website). Colbert, who uses satire to make a serious point, spoofed the Jesuit search for ET’s before saying seriously, “I for one will never understand why the (Catholic) church is contemplating a universe where man is not the center.” Then he introduced Consolmagno, who insinuated that Jesus could possibly have been the Savior to aliens before earth existed.
Consolmagno is an evolutionist. He said, “[Intelligent Design] has been hijacked by a narrow group of creationist fundamentalists in America to mean something it didn’t originally mean at all. It’s another form of the God of the gaps. It’s bad theology in that it turns God once again into the pagan god of thunder and lightning.” He also said, “Religion needs science to keep it away from superstition and keep it close to reality, to protect it from creationism, which at the end of the day is a kind of paganism – it’s turning God into a nature god.”
Those of us who don’t buy into the theory of evolution are pagans? Really?
Let me show you what it says in the Catholic Catechism under II. “ The Visible World # 344”: “…May you be praised, O Lord, in all your creatures, especially brother sun, by whom you give us light for the day; he is beautiful, radiating great splendor, and offering us a symbol of you, the Most High. May you be praised, my Lord, for sister water, who is very useful and humble, precious and chaste. . . May you be praised, my Lord, for sister earth, our mother, who bears and feeds us, and produces the variety of fruits and dappled flowers and grasses. . .”
Who’s turning God into a nature god? If anything is paganism, this doctrine surely hints of it. You know, it’s taken me weeks to write these two articles I’m working on, because the more I research, the more I have to keep stopping to regain my composure. My blood pressure goes up, and I pray I don’t have a stroke before I’m done with them. But I need to press on, because I can see more than ever what the Roman Catholic church (RCC) is leading the world into – more on that in my next article, “The Emerging.”
I want to try as much as I can to follow 2 Timothy 4:2 and “reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with all longsuffering (self-control and patience), but it’s hard. I don’t want to come off as blasting Catholics. I’m sure a number of them trust in Christ alone for their salvation, but they stay in the Catholic Church because of family. I’m not against the people in the Catholic Church, but I am against the system. If Catholics would just read the Holy Bible and compare it with Catholic doctrines, they would see that there is not a lot of similarity between the two. The Bible is the only source of authority for church doctrine. “His Word is absolutely sufficient in itself” (Psalm 119:160).
When I married into a Catholic family 37 years ago, I wanted to take communion in the Catholic Church. However, the priest told me that, as a Protestant, I was not part of their community and wasn’t allowed. I was not considered to be a Christian by them. Then I mentioned that the Bible says Mary and Joseph were allowed by God to consummate their marriage after the birth of Jesus (Matthew 1:24-25), and that they then had several other children (Mark 6:2-3).
The priest’s response was: “Um, uh, we prefer to call them cousins.” That’s when my eyes were really opened to the fact that something was just not right here. I potentially have much to lose by speaking out. However, I can’t let it stop me from defending the faith. God commands us, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong” (1 Corinthians 16:13).
Anyway, back to the subject. Pope Benedict XVI stated the following in his address to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences in 2008: “My predecessors, Pope Pius XII and Pope John Paul II, noted that there is no opposition between faith’s understanding of creation and the evidence of the empirical sciences. That is because the Catholic Church does not hold a strictly literal interpretation of the Genesis story of creation, as do some Protestant denominations.”
Evolutionists are desperate to find other planets that will support their idea that life evolved, but there is no evidence that any planet other than Earth supports life. Also, the last time I checked, apes were still apes. I don’t see any of them evolving into pre-human creatures. The Scriptures tell us that God made man in His own image and that Jesus is God in the flesh. Also “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).
“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’ So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth’” (Genesis 1:26-28).
“He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation” (Acts 17:26).
I read an excellent article titled, “Are There Such Things as Aliens or UFOs” that I’ve summed up here. The entire article can be found on the Christian website, GotQuestions.org.
God created mankind without sin, but Satan’s lie fooled Adam and Eve. Ever since then, mankind has been under the curse of original sin. “Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned…” (Romans 5:12).
All of creation is under the same judgment. “For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now” (Romans 8:20-22).
Through Christ’s death and resurrection, the curse of original sin is overcome in those who receive Him. But Christ DIED ONCE for those sins—on the earth.
“Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now once at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him” (Hebrews 9:26-28).
If part of God’s creation were on other planets, they would also be suffering under the same judgment and would suffer more when, on the Day of the Lord, “the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat” (2 Peter 3:10).
Since Jesus died only once and only for the sins of the earth, those on other planets would be doomed whether they had ever sinned or not. This would be against God’s character. It says in 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”
Pastor Gary Kinnaman, who wrote “Angels Dark and Light” pointed out, “UFO sightings have never, at least to my knowledge, led a person closer to God. In fact, most UFO experiences have just the opposite effect.” (Read Deceptive Extraterrestrial Messages” at alienresistance.org.)
Thomas Horn reported on a radio interview with the late Catholic priest, Malachi Martin, in his article “Is the Vatican Easing Humanity Toward Alien Disclosure? The following is an excerpt from that article:
“In 1997, while on Coast to Coast AM radio, Art Bell asked him (Malachi Martin) why the Vatican was heavily invested in the study of deep space at Mt Graham Observatory in southeastern Arizona. As a retired professor of the Pontifical Biblical Institute, Father Martin was uniquely qualified to hold in secret, information pertaining to the Vatican’s Advanced Technology Telescope (VATT) project at the Mount Graham International Observatory (MGIO). Martin’s answer ignited a firestorm of interest among Christian and secular UFOlogists when he said, “Because the mentality… amongst those who [are] at the… highest levels of Vatican administration and geopolitics, know that, now, knowledge of what’s going on in space, and what’s approaching us, could be of great import in the next five years, ten years.” —NewsWithViews.com
Fr. Martin was said to have indicated to several friends that darkness was to cover the earth and that it would be both physical and spiritual in nature. Fr. Martin was formerly of the Jesuit Order, but he became disillusioned with the changes of Vatican II in the early 1960s. He asked Pope Paul VI to release him from his vows to the Jesuit Order, though he remained a Catholic priest. Fr. Martin moved to New York and began writing books which were critical of the Roman Catholic Church. Some of his books were published as non-fiction, but Martin confided that they were really 85% true, with names changed.
Martin was in the process of writing “Primacy: How the Institutional Roman Catholic Church became a Creature of the New World Order” when he suffered a fall that led to his death. The unfinished manuscript disappeared. Martin said he was pushed, but did not see the perpetrator. On the website: Traditional Catholic Remnant, there is an article in support of Fr. Martin titled, “Fr. Malachi Martin: Hero or Fraud?”
UFO sightings and associated strange happenings are surely demonic. What is Satan trying to achieve with these sightings? Will the world soon be deluded into believing that extraterrestrials are here to save the earth – that they suddenly snatched up the Christians and took them away to teach them how to be more “tolerant?”
The Bible gives a clear warning to those who reject the Gospel of Christ and instead take pleasure in their unrighteousness:
“The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness” (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12).
“See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ” (Colossians 2:8).
When Peter addressed the Sanhedrin, he said, “Let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well (a man whom the disciples had healed). This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:10-12).
Jesus Christ is the sole Mediator who saves us by His grace.
“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5).
Only Christ can save you – nothing else, no one else, no how.
While the Jesuit astronomers await their Mother Ship of extraterrestrial “guardians” to come down to their Mother Church and save mankind, those of us who trust in Christ for our salvation “wait for God’s Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come” (1 Thessalonians 1:10).
“And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified” (Acts 20:32).
