The world says there are many gods.
God says “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” (1 Timothy 2:5-6)
The world says there are many ways to God.
God says “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)
The world says nothing is sin, so do as you please.
God says “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
The world says God would send no one to hell.
God says “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 10:28)
The world says there is no such thing as the Trinity.
God says “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” (1 John 5:7)
The world says that Jesus was a good man, but not God.
God says “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. “ (John 1:1) and “My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one.” (John 10:30) Jesus is the one speaking.
The world says truth is what we make it.
God says “If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:” (Ephesians 4:21) and “This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.” (1 John 5:6)
The world says earth and all its inhabitants, including man, evolved over millions of years.
God says “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth…” (Genesis 1:1, 21, 27; 2:3; 5:1;) See also: Deuteronomy 4:32; Malachi 2:10; Mark 13:19
The world says we must work our way to Heaven.
God says “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:8-10)
The world says we can do anything we want without repercussion.
God says “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. “ Romans 6:23
The world says homosexuality is an acceptable lifestyle.
God says “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” (Romans 1:26-27, 32)
The world says it isn’t human, so abortion is justified.
God says “Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?” (Job 31:15) and “I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother’s belly.” (Psalms 22:10) and “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” (Psalms 127:3)
The world says “It is my body and I can do with it as I please.”
God says “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)
The world says marriage is not necessary.
God says “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” (Hebrews 13:4)
The world says that prostitution is just another way to earn money.
God says “Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.” (Leviticus 19:29) See Proverbs 6:24-25
The world says looking at pornography is harmless.
God says “But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” (Matthew 6:23) See Proverbs 6:24-25
The world says that lying is acceptable in certain cases.
God says “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.” (Proverbs 6:16-19)
The world says there is no need to respect our parents.
God says “My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:” (Proverbs 6:20)
The world says it is okay to live off the “government,” other people, in other words.
God says “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (1 Timothy 5:8)
The world says stealing is okay at times.
God says “Thou shalt not steal.” (Exodus 20:15)
The world says it is okay to talk about others.
God says “But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.” (1 Peter 4:15)
I have listed but just a few contrasts of what the world says, either by word or deed, and what God says. Also, I have used only a very, very few verses to show what God says. God’s Word, the Bible has much to say about how we live, whether we are a Christian or a non-Christian.
It is important we understand that it doesn’t matter whether the verse or verses quoted come from the Old Testament or the New Testament. They are all God’s words. Whether they were written by Moses, David, Paul, Peter or any other writer of Scriptures, they are still the words of God.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
“For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” (2 Peter 1:21)
These contrasts, and many others not listed, are far too great to ignore. Either the world is lying or God is lying. At best, one or the other is wrong. Who do you think it is? Is it the world or God?
