It’s the day after the Rapture and you are still here…you have been left behind! The shock is just beginning to set in with all of the plane crashes, auto accidents, train wrecks and explosions that have occurred all over the world. You turn on the TV – every news station is presenting round-the-clock coverage of the biggest event to have ever happened in world history.
You stare at the TV screen in amazement as you watch aerial shots from TV news helicopters showing the open graves in cemeteries — where the dead in Christ ascended with newly-resurrected bodies; a pretty news reporter chokes back tears as she describes the piles of crumbled marble behind her from mausoleums that have burst open and the sound of sirens everywhere—even after you turn off the TV.
You may be experiencing a power outage; fires are burning out of control and you cringe as you listen to the screams and sobs of hysterical people everywhere. Your cellphone is ringing constantly and your friends ask, “Did you hear what happened?” and “Are you watching the news?”
You call some Christian friends – they don’t answer. You call your family – they don’t answer either. (You remember your family and friends talking to you about God’s plan of salvation and how you shrugged it off.)
Later that night you turn on the TV and are relieved to find a comedy show with a comedian whose first line out of his mouth is “Where’d everybody go?”
But are you laughing?
You begin your search for answers. Someone is being interviewed on television that it was an alien abduction. Radio shows like “Coast to Coast” are inundated with calls. Newspaper headlines read, “Millions Have Disappeared” and “Mass Hallucinations?”
But deep in your heart you know what happened as you come to the sobering realization that you have been left behind, and will have to go through what Jesus Himself said will be “a time of trouble the world has never known.”
Dear Reader, if you have not yet given your heart to Jesus do it now. Ask the Lord to come into your heart and forgive you of all of your sins. You never know what tomorrow may bring. Many people think this world we live in is all there is to life. Not true!
Remember the saying, ”This is the beginning of the rest of your life?” Your life doesn’t really begin until you leave this world. Your life here on earth is for one reason – to make a decision where you will spend eternity.
Eternity. Think about that word for a moment.
Human beings have a difficult time grasping the true meaning of that word because everything we do in life has a beginning and an end – the books we read, the movies we watch, the ballgames we attend. But eternity means never-ending . . .
A human being consists of two parts: The physical and the spiritual. The physical parts are your internal organs, your skin and your hair. The spiritual part is your soul—that’s the real you: your thinking and knowing, your reasoning and understanding, your feelings and emotions.
Did you ever stop to think what happens to you when you die?
Nobody likes to think about death but sooner or later we will die unless the Rapture takes the born-again believers away first. Some people believe in reincarnation, that they will return in another life.
There is no such thing as a “recycled” soul.
You are a unique individual. God planned you and knew you before you were even born!
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart for my holy purpose” (Jeremiah 1:5).
“For You formed my inward parts, You wove me in my mother’s womb…” (Psalm 139:13)
From the time a baby is conceived in the mother’s womb a soul is created. Souls live forever. You can’t kill a soul. So when the physical body ceases to function (death) your soul—the REAL you—leaves your body and goes to one of two places to spend eternity: Heaven or hell.
God did not create hell for his creations. It grieves God when souls go to hell. God created hell as a place to imprison Satan and his demonic minions when their time is up wrecking havoc in the lives of God’s creations, and their time is just about up.
So how do we get to spend eternity with God?
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)
The only way to get to God is through His Son, Jesus Christ. By believing Jesus is the Son of God, by believing Jesus came to earth in the flesh as the Lamb of God to be slain for our transgressions. And the best part is that Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven where He is now preparing a place for us in His Father’s Kingdom!
“In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14: 2- 3).
That is a promise.
On Sunday, April 5 we will celebrate Jesus’ victory over death and sin. Because He gave up His life to die an agonizing death on that cruel cross we now can spend eternity with God in His Kingdom. God’s plan of salvation is so simple. Believe and accept what Jesus did for you; confess and repent of your sins.
“We speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would have not crucified the Lord of glory.
But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things God has prepared for those who love Him” (1 Corinthians 2:7-9).
Paul was nearly speechless when God gave him a “sneak peek” at what awaits us in His Kingdom. It blew him away!
