Kabbalah

Kabablah falls under the false doctrine/ religions category. It is an ancient Jewish mystical practice, a very esoteric, mystical way of seeing life denying the deity of Christ and the need to have faith in Him as the only means of salvation (John 14:6).

Those who practice the teachings of Kabbalah interpret Scripture seeking “hidden” meanings that take the true interpretation of biblical verses into an area that is far from the truth. Kaballah is the way of viewing reality based upon subjective, experiential interpretations of the world, life, death, creation, meaning, purpose, etc.

Kabbalah is an inner-contemplative movement and is considered to be a way of life and relies heavily on mystical interpretations. It is a mystical and esoteric system of observing and interpreting the universe and mankind that also seeking to reveal the “true” relationship between God, man, and the universe.

Kabbalah teaches that there is a divine being, neither male nor female, that has ten primary aspects called sephirot which are represented in a “Tree of Life” which is used  as a basis for Kabbalah teachings.  Kabbalah teaches that the “supreme being” created the universe through a series of those ten aspects that descended through various levels until creation was fully realized. None of this conjecture has anything even remotely to do with the true teachings of the Bible. [1]

The Torah is the Pentateuch, the five books of Moses. These are the first five books of the Old Testament in the Bible. This is all God gave to Moses. According to Kabbalists during Moses’ 40-days on Mount Sinai, God gave him more than the Law, explaining what everything meant to Moses. Later, Jewish scholars allegedly wrote the Talmud.

The Talmud teaches that Jesus was a bastard, the son of a Roman soldier. The Talmud also claims that Jesus was boiled in urine and dung, sent to hell forever. Yet this repugnant doctrine is accepted and taught by some Jewish rabbis and others. The Talmud is filled with blasphemous teachings. God gave the Law to Moses and nothing more.

Kabbalah is based upon the idea that there are secret and hidden meanings in the biblical text that can be discovered by examining the shape of Hebrew letters, the gematria of words (mathematical values), and how these word values relate to each other which is totally unbiblical in nature. The Bible teaches that God speaks to us today through the Scriptures, that is, the Son of God (the living Word). [2]

God’s Supreme Revelation:

“God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;” (Hebrews 1-2).

The teachings of Kabbalah are very subjective and reduces the God of the Bible to some sort of lesser, inferior entity and permits anything one might perceive as “truth” to be considered acceptable. As with all other cults and false religions, the Bible is relegated as just another book to occasionally glean things from, things that serves one’s personal agenda.

Kabbalah is very New Age in nature and appeals to those who will not receive the truth that Christ is the only way to heaven and the only way one can be redeemed. It is nothing more than a demonically inspired way to keep people from the true teachings of the Bible. It appeals to the flesh as it elevates one’s ego because it has pantheistic roots. Pantheism is the idea that God and His creation are one.

Kabbalah has become a reference to doctrines of esoteric knowledge concerning God, God’s creation of the universe and the laws of nature, and the path by which adult religious Jews can learn these secrets. According to Jewish tradition dating from the 13th century, this knowledge (secrets) has come down as a “revelation” to elect saints from a remote past, and preserved only by a privileged few. It is considered part of the Jewish Oral Law by the majority of religious Jews in modern times, although not agreed upon by many medieval Talmudic scholars as well as a minority of current Orthodox rabbis. [3]

Kabbalah, according to the more recent use of the word, stresses the reasons and understanding of the commandments in the Torah, and the cause of events described in the Torah. Kabbalah includes what is referred to as “understanding of the spiritual spheres of creation and the ways by which God administers the existence of the universe.”

Kabbalah has gained extensive popularity over recent years by celebrities who extol this hedonistic practice absolutely denying the true God of the Bible.

Jesus is God in the flesh, and He came to die for the sins of all who would believe in Him. If an individual trusts in Christ—that He is God (John 1:1-3) and paid for sin (Romans 8:3) and then that person is forgiven and becomes a child of God (John 1:12). All interpretations that take away from this biblical truth are false and should be rejected.

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;” (2 Timothy 4:3).
