Why did Donald Trump win the 2016 American presidential election? First and foremost, it was simply because God appointed him to win. Secondly, Trump rang our collective American bell and awakened a large number of politically apathetic American citizens! Yes, in the nick of time he rang the warning bell that we were on the verge of losing our nation’s God-given democratic republic and Christian foundation…possibly forever.
Trump’s campaign was similar to the ride of Paul Revere in that Trump sounded the alarm to patriotic Americans the ‘globalists were coming’ to take away our national sovereignty.
It was pretty apparent from the moment he announced he was running for president in June of 2015 that Trump had a sincere desire to make America great again. It caused millions of so-called “deplorable” and forgotten American citizens to once again get involved in our nation’s political process by casting their votes; perhaps doing so for the very first time ever or in a long time.
Why did a record number of evangelicals and millions of other people get out and vote? It is because millions of Americans still love this country as founded, cherish it’s providential Christian-based past, and “believe” in Trump’s vision for our country’s future greatness once again.
After his election victory, it was as though we could hear our nation’s symbol of American independence—the Liberty Bell, ring once again. The inscription on the Liberty Bell reads “Proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants.” This is a Bible verse our nation’s founders borrowed from the Old Testament book of Leviticus (25:10).
Remember how the boy in the classic Christmas movie The Polar Express couldn’t hear the bell ring until he “believed?” Trump has helped millions of Americans believe in our country once again, which has allowed us to hear a whole variety of glad American bells ring again.
Over the past eight years of misguided leadership of our country by Obama and other liberal Democrat Party leaders, a large number of Americans were lulled into a form of apathy, as liberals fed all of us a daily dose of “fake news” making us feel as though our Liberty Bell was nothing more than a clanging cowbell, and we did not deserve to be a great “super power” nation. Many Americans never did or could no longer hear the glad American bells ring.
Donald Trump rang the warning bell for us to save America from a sad and tragic future of despair and decline, and he intends to keep ringing the bells of ‘life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness every day for the foreseeable future.
Most Americans with a true grasp of American history know that we have a strong work ethic heritage and ‘can do” attitude handed down to us by generations of our hardworking American ancestors. Many once hard working, but now unemployed Americans are ready to get back to work and help make America great again, which in turn benefits the future of our own families.
Our young people in the public education system have been indoctrinated with a delusional far-left liberal viewpoint in ever increasing amounts ever since the 1960s, by liberal professors, teachers, our federal government, and American history revisionists who have lied to all our students and not taught our youth the truth about our nation’s Christian foundation and all the innumerable good things America has done for the betterment of not only our own nation, but the entire world, for well over two centuries now.
As a result of liberals negatively affecting the minds of our students at every level of education from primary schools all the way through college level courses, a large portion of our millennial generation of younger Americans believe in socialism as the way to go forward, even though socialism has failed every time it’s been implemented in countries around the world. Students are evidently not taught that fact about socialism in our schools.
Let’s review a list of some American bells we will now have the opportunity to hear ring loudly for the first time in a long time thanks to Donald Trump’s love for America as it was founded and as it has thrived (until recently) for all these years by the grace of God.
The bells of Life…the hope for fewer overall abortions, especially partial birth abortions.
The bells of Liberty…the hope for less federal government overreach and regulations.
The bells of the Pursuit of Happiness…the hope more Americans can experience it.
The bells of Freedom…the hope for more positive discourse free from political correctness.
The bells of Christmas…the hope for greater public expression of true Christmas symbols.
The bells of Commerce…the hope for a better American economy and more good jobs.
The bells of Churches…the hope for Christian pastors to proclaim the gospel without fear.
The bells of Schools…the hope for all schools to once again teach true American history.
The bells of Security…the hope for a renewed and greater enforcement of immigration laws.
As mentioned in the first paragraph of this article, we need to remember that God has always appointed all the rulers of the world from the very beginning for His purposes. And this includes Donald Trump, who just happened to win what—by all means can be considered a miraculous presidential election victory—against all odds, thanks in great part to the prayers God heard from American Christians and patriots around our country who still believe in God, in our country, and traditional family values.
“It is God who changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and establishes kings” (Daniel 2:21). (This also means that God not mankind controls “climate change.”)
“Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.” (Romans 13:1)
And it is vitally important that America remembers what God says about those who bless Israel. “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse” (Genesis 12:3).
God has granted Americans at least a short reprieve from large scale “anything Christian” persecution. Now it is up to us as Christian citizens of America to respond properly to God’s blessing by honoring God, and His Son, Jesus Christ, in all ways possible going forward, and to remain a friend of Israel.
How we respond to God’s latest blessing will dictate just how long our reprieve from increased persecution will last in America until the time of the coming Rapture of Christians from the earth (and do not doubt that time is still approaching on God’s timetable), followed by a seven-year horrific Tribulation period, which ends just prior to the Millennium, the period of time when Jesus Christ will rule right here on earth for one thousand years as our “King of kings” and our “Lord of lords.”
The Christmas season is upon us…it’s the traditional time of year when we honor the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Let’s rejoice together this year for all our blessings and sing some ‘bell ringing’ verses from a couple traditional Christmas songs.
“I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day”
By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1863)
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
“God is not dead, nor doth he sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail,
With peace on earth, good will to men.”
“Ring Christmas Bells”
By Minna Louise Hohman (1947)
Ring Christmas Bells
Merrily ring
Tell all the world
Jesus is King
Herald the news
To old and the young
Tell it to all
In every tongue
And finally…in the words of Helen M. Virden:
Listen to the Bells today
Ring them for yesterday
For all that was brave in it…
Ring them for today,
Swirl them high in the present
To split the air with ringing
Then let them rock the rafters
With the promise of tomorrow
And its enduring eternal hope.
