Three Square Market, a vending company in Wisconsin, has implanted over 50 of its employees with a microchip inserted between their thumb and forefinger, and into their right hand. Three Square Market V.P. Tony Danna said that the benefit for the employees to receive the implant is “convenience.”
Mr. Danna also admitted that the ultimate goal of his company is to “eliminate the wallet.” The microchips will allow employees to open locked doors, activate machinery, and buy snacks. Three Square Market already has vending machines in place that require only a fingerprint to make purchases but their ultimate goal is to require an implant in the right hand in order to buy their products.
“He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name” (Revelation 13:16-17).
When asked what they thought of the idea of receiving a microchip implant to make purchases, several residents in the area said they were skeptical but no one said they would refuse receiving the chip outright. Marquette University tech privacy expert, Scott D’Urso, predicted that most people will be willing to receive a similar implant in five to fifteen years.
It appears however that most people would be willing to receive a mark in their right hand in order to buy and sell… today. For those of us who follow our Savior’s command to “watch,” this news comes as no surprise. With each passing day, the light of Jesus is being replaced with the darkness of rebellion and sin. One has to wonder just how long it will be until news comes out that people are receiving a mark on their foreheads in order to buy food.
More and more people on this earth are allowing their conscience to be smothered by the ease of access to the many things that provide a false comfort through sin and ignorance to the truth of God’s Word. In simpler times, if one needed comfort when no one else was around, the only option was to reach for a Bible.
Today it’s far easier to reach out to social media to find comfort and most people wouldn’t even think of seeking comfort from God’s Word. Unfortunately when one reaches out to social media, they are surrounded by the false wisdom of the world along with all of its deceptive feel good lusts.
The tragedy and consequence of replacing comfort from the Bible with the comfort of the flesh is that it’s causing even older generations to completely forget what they’ve been warned about of the demonic deception of these last days. The apostle Paul was right, widespread apostasy will lead mankind into the deception of receiving the mark of the beast:
“Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness (2 Thessalonians 2:3, 11-12).
We who are eagerly waiting and watching for our dear Savior have plenty of reasons to expect His very soon return.
“Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming” (Mark 13:35a).
