In this article, I would like to move away from all the “gloom and doom” of these, our “Last Days,” and write an article in the First Person. I would like to be a witness to the Lord God, in how He shaped and blessed my life. I would like to begin with the passage of Scripture about Him that tells us:
Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
From the verse, we understand that it was God who created the universe. Yet I often wonder how many people know that God knew each of us before this time. He knew what all of our days, minutes and hours would be and how we would react to everything, by virtue of Him knowing the “intent of our heart.”
Our awesome Lord and God knows absolutely everything in each of our lives from one moment to the next; there is never a question in His mind.
The Lord knew me before I was born, what my names would be and why; and all of it was according to His Perfect Plan for my life. He knew things would be most difficult at times, and yet He chose to tell me He would always be there for me. Scripture tells us this:
Psalms 139:13-14 “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”
In this passage, I understand that the Lord God created me to be, not an “adopted son,” but to be a “real son” to Him. There was never a moment in His mind that I would fail to declare Him as my God, as my Lord and Savior, my Creator. He knitted me together in my mother’s womb to follow Him and only Him! I have had trials in my life, even times when I thought I would die, and yet He was always there with me and showing me His plan for my life.
2 Kings 19:26-27 “Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up. But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.”
There has never been a single moment when I did not belong to Him. My Lord God created me to perform His pleasure and in His time.
I have done very little good in this life. The only thing I ever did that was what He wanted was when I accepted Him as my Lord and Savior. And that, my friends, is the only thing that truly matters in my life, or in anyone else’s life for that matter. He knew my life would be filled with troubles and discord…and yet He told me:
Matthew 11:28-31 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
In case no one has ever told you, the Holy Word of God is all about His love for me and for you!
I have had my share of health problems, yet He heals me and keeps me healthy. I have been a smoker since I was 21 years of age, and yet, at 66 years, He has kept my heart in normal condition. I just had a heart cath. to make sure my heart was in good enough condition for gallbladder surgery. With my arteries open and clear, I was indeed able to have the surgery.
This is not something I could ever do for myself; it has been the Lord from the very beginning.
As a matter of fact, I have had a great deal of testing lately: CT scans, echocardiogram, blood work, X-rays; and everything came out “normal!” How does this happen? Only the Lord God knows for sure, and I trust Him with my life and my eternity.
John 4:52-54 “Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house. This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.”
There is no greater power than the Lord God! I truly believe it has everything to do with what the Lord God’s perfect plan is—in my life, as well as in yours. I have no other explanation. Trust me when I say, I marveled at His love for me…My Lord God IS enough for me. Do you need more Scripture of proof?
John 5:5-8 “And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.”
As you see, the power of all things belongs to Jesus Christ, Who IS GOD. In all these things, I know that it is because all these people, to include me, BELIEVED in Jesus Christ, to be who HE truly is—GOD.
I know there are people that are wondering, “What about those that are dying or are dead already?” The answer is still Jesus Christ; He is God.
My answer will always be that it does not matter whether it is in life or in death…My Lord and Savior is there…everything is according to His Perfect Will. It does not matter to me; I will always and forever follow my Lord God. This could mean that tomorrow He could allow an asteroid to fall on me; it does not matter. I am in His capable hands! I fervently know where I am going in eternity—Heaven to be with Him—and again, that’s enough for me!
Mark 5:19 “Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.”
So in accordance with the Holy Word of God and as a witness for Him, I have given you an accounting of some things in my life that the Lord God has blessed me with. I am living proof that He is GOD. And if He loves me enough to bless me, then why would you think He would forget about you? The Lord God forgets nothing!
How about you writing of His blessings? Do you know where and when He has worked in your life? Tell us of your witness for Him.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
I use the King James Version of the Bible and all emphasis is mine.
