NAR Cult : Stories of Survivors
People who write to me automatically assume that I love Sid Roth. I suppose that it is because Sid and I are both Jews.
Although Sid Roth does remind me of many of my Jewish uncles – I have NEVER followed him. I watched him one time, and God gave me the discernment that I was not watching a person who cared about sound teaching from the Bible.
The name of Sid’s show “It’s Supernatural” set off my herescope quickly. We know that everything about God and the Bible is truly Supernatural. But I say that because His ways are SO much higher than our ways.
He is God and we are not
When we begin to proclaim that we are somehow “supernatural,” then we’d better stop and go back to God’s Holy Word to see where we veered off of the narrow path that leads to Life.
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14).
God and His Word never change. The Bible is the infallible and inerrant Word of God. It was penned by men who were under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
In other words, God wrote the Bible. The Creator of the Universe wrote the Bible!
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:12-13). (Emphasis added)
So, we must enter through the narrow gate – Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Did you really read that? God tells us that the narrow gate which leads to life is a difficult path, and there are few who find it.
You won’t hear that preached in many churches today.

New Revelation
Leaders of this movement occasionally refer to Scripture, but more often than not, they rely on extra- Biblical revelations. This makes perfect sense since they believe that they are the “New” Apostles.
Now that we have established that the NAR churches do NOT adhere to the Word of God but are actually re-writing much of Scripture, I’m quite sure that the reader would want to know how to tell if they are in a NAR church (cult).
A Christian friend of mine from Nebraska saw the last article I wrote on NAR churches and their aberrant practices. He has volunteered to fight with the IDF a few times – a true lover of Israel. He wrote me an email about how he almost got hooked by these wolves. For the sake of not misquoting his words, I have decided to place the email verbatim here:
“Hey Geri, real good stuff about the New Apostolic Movement. I inadvertently got involved with them in 2002–2003, but not very deeply. I responded to them because of their feigned love for Israel. It so happened that the first time I was preparing to go with the IDF in October of 2003, I attended some of their meetings and found out that some of them were going to Israel during that same timeframe.
“They tore around Israel in big tour busses, jumped off at certain places and said intercessory prayers for Israel. When I went to their first meeting, I took my Bible and read it while they jigged and twitched and wailed. They’re insane. Really, I could go on and on. Mainly, they really use Israel as a hook to catch people. If you’re a person who loves Israel, you’ll think you’ve fallen in with a great bunch of people who love Israel so much that they will wail, shriek, and push on concrete walls to express their devotion.
“It didn’t take me long to detect a strong undercurrent of insanity and sexuality. The pastors were a husband and wife team who had been ordained by the same org. which ordained Benny Hinn — they told me this themselves. I worked with the wife in a business that provided community support for the severely and persistently mentally ill. The husband was a part-time deputy sheriff. Many years after I had disassociated from them, the husband brought some court papers to my apartment, and he had taken on the appearance of a demon.
“If you’re a Christian fully grounded in the Word like I am, you will see thru these people at the first get-together, and get out immediately. As I was in Ben Gurion airport waiting for my plane, I saw the apostolics waiting there also. We were sunburned and hard from working for the IDF in the Negev Desert, while they were pale and crazed-looking.
“The whole reason I’m writing to you about my experience is because of the way they seduce those who love Israel. It doesn’t get much worse than that, does it? I always wanted to rat them out to someone, but this is my first chance after so many years. The women and girls have no problem with dressing and acting overtly seductively, so therefore it’s obvious that illicit sexual activity takes place as a major part of their worship.
“The overseers of the husband and wife ministry team were a husband and wife from Minnesota. I guess I participated more than I initially remembered, but truly I did it only as investigation, now that I’m looking back on it. They will eventually kick you out for not allowing the spirit to overtake you if you do like I did and not participate in the swaying, jigging, twitching, and wailing. It’s all coming back to me now.
“Yes, it’s resisting the spirit if you don’t get with the program. Anyway, the Minnesota couple attended the worship service, and then the Nebraska couple threw a big feast. The Minnesota guy prayed an incomprehensible gibberish and then ate like a glutton. His wife wore a real tight short dress. They presented us with the graphics of how their version of the apostolic movement had moved down out of Minnesota and had penetrated Iowa, South Dakota, and Nebraska.”
NAR churches are all over the world now
It truly is frightening when one realizes that this apostate church is not just on a few street corners in a couple of states. NO. This satanic stronghold has truly gone global.
The Hyper-Charismatic Movement
Now, when I look back – I can clearly see that this full-blown demonic cult was the direct result of the many Charismatic churches who exalted themselves and not God. The name it and claim it crowd. Those who insisted that all people speak in tongues as evidence of Salvation. Those who sought after extra-Biblical prophecies instead of the Holy Word of God. They embraced the lies from the father of lies.
And now they embrace his Kundalini serpent.
Some Survivors of NAR
One of the best ways to understand just how evil and aberrant the teachings of NAR truly are, let’s read stories about some survivors:

Most of the churches who are overtaken by NAR leaders are non-denominational. They come in and slowly bring their heresies with them – little by little – until one day the people are truly “bewitched” by things they have never seen before.
Only the truly discerning will see clearly that the teachings are not Biblical, and those people will leave. Those who can discern are truly blessed.
Unfortunately, that is the exception – not the rule.
But the baby Christians and even those who have not been born again (but are searching) will be seduced by the so-called “Supernatural” occurrences in their church. The very spiritually weak will invite the Kundalini serpent to come and reside in them.
THAT is the goal of all leaders of the New Apostolic Reformation Cult.

Pray for those in the clutches of this cult. Pray that God would set so many of them free.
Pray for the leaders of NAR, that many would have their eyes opened by the Lord.
