Two weeks ago, I wrote an article titled “Jacob’s Sheep.”
A friend informed me that Day of Discovery ministries produced a great video a few years ago called “Bethlehem: Beyond the Christmas Story.”
It is about the Tower of the Flock, and it can be viewed free by downloading a free app at https://dod.org/programs/bethlehem-beyond-the-christmas-story/.
It is 23 minutes long, narrated by Jimmy DeYoung; it is about the birth of Jesus, and it depicts shepherds in the field with sheep that look similar to Jacob’s Sheep in pictures that have been in the news.
The disciples asked Jesus, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the age?” (Matt. 24:3).
Among other things, He said, “Now learn a parable of the fig tree (a symbol of Israel; Hos. 9:10; Jer. 24:1-10); When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors” (Matt. 24:32-35).
I believe the convergence of all of the signs is the greatest sign, and just below that is the establishment and miraculous growth of Israel.
This week, I read an article by Isi Leibler dated Sept. 9, 2018, titled 5779: A New Year of Hope (wordfromjerusalem.com).
Here are some facts worth noting:
In 1948, Israel became a nation again.
In 1967, Israel captured East Jerusalem and the West Bank, including the Temple Mount. Israel soon annexed East Jerusalem and the West Bank. The Fig Tree was growing.
In 2018, the U.S. moved its embassy to Jerusalem.
In the 70 years between 1948 and 2018, Israel’s population grew from about 800,000 people to more than 8 million people.
Israel went from being a wasteland to growing two to three crops a year.
Israel went from being a poverty-stricken nation to being one of the most prosperous nations on earth.
Israel went from being a nation with little technology to being one of the most high-tech nations on earth.
Israel went from having virtually no factories to having more start-ups per capita than any nation on earth.
Israel went from having virtually no jobs to having one of the lowest unemployment rates on earth.
Israel went from very little water to desalination plants that are irrigating crops in the desert.
Israel went from importing natural gas to exporting natural gas.
Israel went from two crop-duster airplanes to one of the greatest air forces on earth.
Israel went from virtually no military to one of the greatest militaries on earth.
A miracle has occurred in the Promised Land in our lifetime.
The Roman dispersion is over.
The fig tree is young and putting forth leaves.
Look up! Lift up your heads! The return of Jesus is near.
On Sept. 13, 2018, it was reported that the U.S. is opposing the construction of a pipeline from Russia to Germany that would also supply the EU.
Pres. Trump wants the EU to start buying natural gas from Israel.
Doing so would have a negative impact on Russia’s economy and increase Russia’s desire to seize Israel’s wealth.
Last week, interest rates in Turkey went up to 24%, and that will help increase Turkey’s desire to seize Israel’s wealth.
I believe the Antichrist will rise to power in the EU and go forth “conquering and to conquer” (Dan. 9:26; Rev. 6:1-2).
He will need a strong military to do that.
In a speech on Sept. 11, 2018, Jean-Claude Junker, chief executive of the EU, criticized Pres. Trump for withdrawing from globalist agreements.
He said, “The EU must flex its muscles as a world power;” “The time has come for EU sovereignty;” “The EU should move ahead with the establishment of a military that is not dependent upon the U.S.,” etc.
Another article said the EU has decided to rapidly increase the size of its military by 700%.
Bible prophecy is being fulfilled, and we can see it.
