One of the biggest lies being told today is that Christians and Muslims worship the same God. FALSE. Muslims claim to have great respect for “Isa,” or Jesus, yet Isa is not our Jesus. If we worship the same God, when is the last time you saw a Muslim worshiping Jesus? You don’t and won’t. We do not worship the same God. They are worshiping another incarnation of Ba’al, or Nimrod.
There are a few main points that Muslims will use to claim the Bible is corrupted, but can never explain how.
They deny the crucifixion, resurrection and ascension. How then could we worship the same God? Those beliefs are the very foundation of being a Christian.
Jesus Christ was crucified, resurrected, and sits on the right hand of the Father. He is God’s Son. Muslims are absolutely convinced that the “spirit to come” was speaking of Muhammad. This is false and this is blasphemy. The Spirit to come was the Spirit of Jesus Christ, our Savior.
John 16:13 “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.”
This is speaking of future events as seen by the text, “the Spirit to come.”
Jesus tells his disciples He has so much He wants to tell them, but they would not be able to understand Him…YET!
The Holy Spirit, which represents Jesus’s Spirit, wasn’t here yet, because Jesus was still here and had not ascended to His father yet. His Spirit descended upon the disciples on the day of Pentecost. It was only when the Holy Spirit came that they would understand.
John 15:26-27 “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.”
Without the Holy Spirit, which is the comforter He spoke of, Christians would never be able to stand on their own. The Holy Spirit witnesses through us; the testimony of Jesus is in us because of His Spirit.
Christians faced persecution from the very beginning, and it hasn’t ended. In fact, it’s increased.
Jesus told His disciples that His followers will go through very hard times in the world. But we as Christians are to spread the gospel. He was telling us the world will hate us but we will have help. The Holy Spirit. He will be with us in SPIRIT.
This is not speaking of Muhammad, though Muslims are convinced these verses are. They are wrong.
John 14:16-18 “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
Jesus is talking about leaving them, and they couldn’t imagine spreading His message without His help or just being without Him, period. Imagine what kind of man He was that His friends truly couldn’t imagine life without Him. You have that same relationship with Him, if you want it. Paul never met Jesus physically before His crucifixion, that we know of; therefore, His relationship with Jesus – and it was a powerful relationship – is something you can have too! If you want it. Jesus WANTS that personal relationship with you.
He came to comfort the world and die for our sins. He shed His blood so we could live. He was sinless but took on our sins. This other Comforter which is described by Jesus as being The Spirit of truth and The Holy Spirit, is His Spirit.
God sent His Son into the world to be a comforter to man; but now with Him leaving them PHYSICALLY, He said He would pray to God to send to them another Comforter, the Holy Spirit that witnesses of Him and through Him. His spirit is the other comforter, NOT MUHAMMAD.
It’s clear from these verses that the Trinity is Father, Son and Spirit. The spirit came once He ascended and sat on the right hand of God, His Father.
John 16:7-11 “For if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.”
The Holy Spirit came upon the disciples on the day of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit is within all who accept Jesus as their Savior.
God gave us free will to choose and make our own path. To willingly follow Him and His Son, not by force and not by threat of death that has been seen in Islam for centuries. Jesus said if you live by the sword, you will die by the sword.
Another objection to Christianity from Muslims is the belief that the Bible has been corrupted.
What does God tell us?
Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.”
Matthew 24:35 “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.”
The Trinity is another point of objection for Muslims. To most Muslims, the Trinity consists their god Allah, Mary and Jesus, instead of God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. They do not understand the Trinity and consider it blasphemous.
Another objection is that Jesus never called Himself God. In Matthew 4:10, Jesus specifically says only God should be worshiped; later He Himself accepts worship without turning anyone away or denying He is God in the flesh.
From His birth until His death, He was worshipped as God.
Matthew 2:2 “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”
Matthew 4:10 “Then Jesus said to him, ‘Away with you, Satan! For it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”
John 9:38 “Then he said, ‘Lord, I believe!’ And he worshiped Him.”
Matthew 8:2 “And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, ‘Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.’”
Matthew 28:9-10 “And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, ‘Rejoice!’ So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.”
Mathew 14:33 “Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, ‘Truly You are the Son of God.’”
After His crucifixion and ascension in Luke 24:52-53:
“And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God. Amen.”
Jesus also told us to pray in HIS name.
John 14:13-14 “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
In John 10:37-38, Jesus made Himself equal with God.
“You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.”
In John 14:7-9, Jesus tells us by seeing Him we have seen the Father.
“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”
Only God can forgive sins. Jesus knew that, yet He forgave the sins of the paralyzed man.
Matthew 9:2 “Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, ‘Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.’”
In Isaiah 7:14, the birth of Jesus was prophesied 1,500 years before His birth through Mary, a virgin.
“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.”
In Psalm 23, we read of the “Good Shepherd.”
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.”
And in John 10:11-12, Jesus tells us He IS the Good Shepherd.
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them.”
Islam teaches that Jesus, or Isa as he’s called in the Koran, was a great prophet who performed miracles, was born to a virgin (alone underneath a palm tree; no mention ever of Joseph or marriage), and was a messiah (but did not die on the cross as an atonement for sin, and will return to help Islam’s Mahdi force all to convert to Islam or die. Then he will live for 40 years on earth and die, and be buried next to Muhammad).
The Quran speaks of Mary’s purification “from the touch of men,” indicating she remained a virgin all her life. This alone gives them a strong connection to Catholicism. Mary is revered in Islam just as she is in Catholicism.
As “Ramadan rage” continues, Christians are being slaughtered. Jesus warned us of these things to come. Christians in the West have never faced persecution for being a Christian as our brothers and sisters in the Middle East, Africa and Asia have. They are being delivered up and killed.
The days of the “Christian West” are over. We are being overrun by people whose culture is not compatible with ours. Minnesota has thousands of Somali “refugees” thanks to Obama. It has become a breeding ground for Islamic hatred towards non-Muslims. How ironic the lovely Congresswoman Omar is from Minnesota. Speaking of this anti-Semite, has she even acknowledged the little Christian boy thrown over the mall railing?
Prepare yourselves and learn God’s word so you are able to defend His word and witness to others.
1 Peter 3:14-15 “But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with gentleness and respect.”
There are some Muslims that will debate you, believing they are right. As a Muslim, they believe in hell. They believe in God’s judgment on mankind, although they believe in a pagan god.
Don’t leave these things out when you witness to Muslims. Don’t sugarcoat or soften God’s word! Teach the gospel as it’s written. Muslims absolutely believe in divine judgment for the sins we commit on earth. If you simply present Jesus as love and forgiveness without sharing the whole gospel, you will not win that argument. Hellfire and judgment are an important part of Islam for non-believers.
When witnessing to them, don’t compare the Bible to the Koran. They may know their Koran from front to back. Just witness! Don’t leave sin and judgment out; tell them of God’s grace. Speak the truth, all of it!
You will get nowhere if you attack the Koran or Muhammad; there’s no need to. You’re witnessing about Jesus Christ. Stick to that and avoid trick questions. When you’re debating or witnessing, don’t forget to remind them of any similarities such as Mary, also reminding them the Bible was completed several hundred years before Muhammad was even born.
Always personalize Jesus and quote what HE said. Share prophecy that has come to pass because there have been no prophecies from Muhammad that have come to fruition.
And finally, remember that a Muslim gives up EVERYTHING if he leaves his Muslim Faith; he very likely could face death. He will face death not from strangers, but his own family. He will lose friends, family and his community.
In the West, people have never faced this, but they are about to.
Mathew 10:21-22 “Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
With Islam comes murder, destruction, chaos, lies and deceit. With Christ comes truth and light. Islam is taught to convert or conquer. Jesus teaches that those who live by the sword shall die by the sword.
“But Jesus said to him, ‘Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword.”
