Almighty Most Holy God :: By Dennis Huebshman

It is a good time to continue with praise, glory and honor to our Heavenly Father. In 1990, a song was released by Wayne Watson and David Huff that is contemporary and inspiring. (any emphasis mine) First, the song – Almighty

Chorus:

Almighty, most holy God
Faithful through the ages
Almighty, most holy Lord
Glorious, almighty God

The beasts of the field, the birds of the air
Are silent to call out your name
The earth has no voice and I have no choice
But to magnify God unashamed

Let the rocks be kept silent for one more day
Let the whole world sing out, let the people say

(Chorus)

Well, time marches on with the innocence gone
And a darkness has covered the earth
But his spirit still dwells, he speaks, it is well
And the hopeless still offered new birth

He will break the leash of death, it will have no sting
Let the prisoner go free, join the dance and sing, Almighty

(Chorus x 3)

Although this song is about 20 years old, it is very relevant for today. The atmosphere of the world is turning away from anything that is Christian, and the minority is holding on to the promises made in the Bible to keep us from the Wrath that is coming. We believers need to be concentrating on the true word of the Lord, and believe that He is with us no matter what. He’s coming soon!

It may seem to some that the Tribulation has already begun. However, the world “ain’t seen nothin yet!” First, the antichrist has not come forth with an ultimate covenant for peace with Israel. Once that covenant is made, the Tribulation will officially be underway. As of right now, no one on this earth knows who that evil person is.

Daniel 9:27 states, “He (antichrist) shall make a strong covenant with many for one week (7 years), and for half of the week (last 3 ½ years), he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering.”

The first half of the covenant will not be “believer-friendly” as there will be persecution that will be increased significantly from whatever it is today. Anyone who accepts Jesus during this whole 7-year span will be subject to martyrdom, unless they can find some place to hide. In Matthew 24:15-16, Jesus said that when the “abomination that causes desolation” is in the temple, the people need to flee to the mountains. It’s believed He was referring to Petra, where all there will be protected by God. Paul also spoke of the man of lawlessness “being revealed and seating himself in God’s temple.” This starts the “great tribulation” or “great wrath.”

The last half of the wrath period will be far worse than anything this world has ever seen. Some people say it’s the wrath of Satan; however, the Father will be controlling it all. All true believers up to the satanic covenant will have been removed through the “taking up” or Rapture to meet Jesus in the air. Once we are gone, the Father will allow his remaining unbelieving chosen people (Jews) to be disciplined, as well as anyone who waited to ask Jesus into their lives.

In the beginning, it will seem like the new “world leader” is Israel’s friend. There will be a new temple built in Jerusalem, for which he most likely will be the one to give them permission to do. Once the temple is completed, the Jews will once again be allowed to offer sacrifices to the Lord. However, it’s a ploy to gain their confidence.

As the song says, “I have no choice, but to Magnify God, unashamed.” Just recently, a student in a Maryland High School was given a failing grade because she refused to profess the “Islam conversion creed.” That creed states there is no god but Allah. Bless this young lady for standing her ground, and through her Christian faith, refusing to bow and worship any other deity than the Lord God Jehovah. This will be on its way to the U.S. Supreme Court for a final decision, as the lower courts have already upheld the decision to fail her.

In Acts 4:18-20, Peter and John were warned about proclaiming Jesus. “So they called them and charged them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered them, whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, for we cannot but speak of that what we have seen and heard.”

Satan is pulling out all stops; and in this day and age, he’s finding a multitude of people only too eager and willing to carry out his wishes. He has the “deluding influence” as given in 2 Thessalonians 2:11 to assist him with his “disciples of evil.” While it isn’t in full force yet, I believe there are enough candidates that are more than willing to claim, “wrong is right, and right is wrong” (Isaiah 5:20), and Christianity is being trampled on.

The alternate lifestyle groups are totally in the open, professing that anyone who doesn’t accept what God has called abominations, are haters. The younger generation is turning away from the faithful teachings of Christ, to false preachers that are saying all this is now okay. Churches of Satan are opening across America.

The attitudes that Paul spoke of in 2 Timothy 3 are all here and in full force. Satan knows his fate is getting closer, and wants to cause harm to any who would worship Jesus. He takes great delight in any form of persecution he can cause. Those, such as the young lady that stood up to her school, may receive persecution here, but there will be rewards at the Judgment Seat of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10) which will last forever.

Not too very long ago, being a Christian, or at least “tolerating” Christianity was pretty much the American way of life. Attitudes began to change a bit at the turn of this new millennium (2000), and over the past decade has begun to accelerate significantly. It’s rapidly becoming a worldwide event. Christians are being martyred in a number of countries just for refusing to convert to other religions. Antichrist groups and false prophets are gaining ground in our country by going after anything “Christian,” and having it declared illegal. There can be Muslim call to prayer, but don’t even try to pray to Jesus!

While many are feeling a sense of despair about all of this, My Jesus has given me a sense of anticipation that He is soon to come and take all true believers away. I do not, in any way, believe the Father is going to leave us here much longer, but is giving everyone a chance to repent and call on Jesus (2 Peter 3:9). Eventually, just as He did with His chosen all through the ages, He will say, “Enough”! The door will close, and He will say, “Son, Bring Your Church Home.”

And what a day that will be when My Jesus I shall see! Yes, we do have an “Almighty, Most Holy God”! He will accept all who call on His Son to be saved (Romans 10:9-13); and now would be a good time to get your reservation made. After the call of the Savior, it will be much more difficult to get to Him. Don’t delay!

Shalom
