“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
In his books, THE HARBINGER and THE PARADIGM, Jonathan Cahn describes a biblical template in which a civilization under the judgment of God is given a period of grace – or window of time – for the purpose to come to repentance and return.
According to Cahn, we are now in that window of time – but it will not last forever. The surprise outcome of the last presidential election brought into power a conservative administration, one which has involved more born-again believers than in any time in modern history. Had it gone the other way, we would now be in a very different place. The present administration has sought to stand for life, for religious freedom, for Israel, and against many of the forces that would seal our nation’s moral and spiritual collapse. It is not about politics, any party, or any man. It’s about grace and the time God gives to a nation for the purpose of return.
Yet, even in that window – and one of the most conservative administrations in history – America’s cultural and spiritual collapse has not only continued – it has accelerated and deepened. As far as the political part goes, it is only guaranteed to the end of this year. If it is not extended, we could see the unleashing of a flood of anti-biblical, anti-Christian laws and measures that could end religious freedom as we know it.
Even if the political window is extended for another four years – without a spiritual return, repentance and revival – America’s ultimate course and end will remain unchanged. Without revival, all political and cultural efforts will ultimately fail. The purpose of the window is not about politics – but revival. Without revival – America is lost. And if America is lost, so will go the world.
We have this window and this chance. If we don’t respond now, we may never have the chance to respond again. And if we do not now see a return, we may pass the point of no return.
Since 9/11, America needs to see the necessity of national repentance. Jonathan Cahn announces a National and Global Day of Prayer and Repentance to be called The Return. The central day will be Saturday, September 26 in a sacred assembly to take place in our nation’s capital on the Washington Mall. It will take place during the 400th anniversary of the sailing of The Mayflower and forty days before the presidential election. It will be a movement for prayer, repentance, return and revival.
We should all commit to praying, from here on, every day for the repentance, the revival, and the return of God’s people and of this nation, America – for God’s End-Time revival.
