Sewing & Reaping? :: By Wm. Kelsey Pietsch

I hope this title got your attention. No, we’re not “sewing.” But are we “sowing the wind, and reaping the whirlwind?” This concept comes from the Bible (Hosea 8:7; See Galatians 6:7-8) as it relates to the Jews in the north. They forsook the true and living God and pursued the sensual idols and wicked ways of the heathen people around them. This led to their being taken as captives to a foreign land and scattered among the nations of the world to this day (See Deuteronomy 28:64-68).

But, against the wishes of the devil, there is coming a day (perhaps very soon) when the Jews will be restored as God’s favored nation (Zechariah 12–14). They will receive all the land that God promised to give to them, from the Mediterranean Sea to the Euphrates River (Genesis 15:18-21). They are not “occupiers” of land that doesn’t belong to them. God is NOT finished with the Jewish nation (See Romans 11).

We do NOT believe in “replacement theology” or that the Church has replaced Israel.

[1] This false teaching will result in the worst holocaust in human history. It’s called “the time of Jacob’s (Israel’s) trouble” (Jeremiah 30:7; Matthew 24:15 ff).

[2] Sadly, most of “Christendom” blames the Jews for the death of Christ. (Note: God holds all men, including you and me, responsible for Christ’s death – Acts 4:25-28.)

Adolph Hitler cited Martin Luther’s derogatory words to justify his attempt to annihilate the Jews.

[3] Do you belong to and/or support a “church” or organization that denounces Israel as “occupiers” of a land that doesn’t belong to them? Are you and your church part of the B.D.S. (Boycott, Divest, Sanction Movement against Israel?) If you’re a true Christian, get out of it (2 Corinthians 6:14; See Revelation 18:4).

Actions have consequences, whether they be good or evil. As He did with Israel, is God allowing wicked people within our borders or other nations to punish us as a nation because we’ve chased God out of our schools, our homes, and our lives? Are you a “nominal Christian” and/or a “practical” atheist? Maybe you’re an agnostic. I hope you don’t claim to be an atheist. If you do, please read Psalm 14:1 to see what God says about you. Consider what anyone can learn from nature and what happens to ungrateful people (Psalm 19:1; Romans 1:18 ff).

Why is the United States not mentioned in the Scriptures as it pertains to Bible prophecy while many other nations are clearly identified? Could it be destroyed because of our willful defiance of God in spite of His bountiful provisions and blessings upon us? With greater light comes greater responsibilities (Luke 12:48; See James 4:17).

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, And all the nations that forget God” (Psalm 9:17; See Psalm 2).

God used the cruel, idol-worshipping Babylonians and King Nebuchadnezzar to punish His chosen people, the rebellious Jews from the southern tribes, for 70 years (Jeremiah 25:11-12). Then God used the Persian (Iranian) King Cyrus to overthrow the Babylonians and release the Jews so they could return to Israel to rebuild their Temple (Daniel 1:1, 2; Isaiah 44:28; 45:1).

“The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes” (Proverbs 21:1). He sets up and takes down rulers of the nations (Daniel 4:17, 25). “And He has made from one blood [man – Adam] every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings,” (Acts 17:26).

There is only one race – the human race. The different languages and ethnic groups came into existence after the flood in Noah’s day when God scattered the rebels at the tower of Babel (Genesis 10 – 11).

Once again, in these last days, wicked men are trying to set up their own “New World Order” without the Lord Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6-7; See Psalm 2). God will allow them to do this, but He will limit their attempt to 7 years. Otherwise, no flesh on earth would survive physically (Matthew 24:22). The Lord will pour out 21 judgments on the wicked people on the earth (Revelation 6 – 19). They will be like the plagues in Egypt during Moses’ day (Exodus 7 ff; Joshua 24:5). We hope you won’t be here on earth when all this takes place.

What exactly do we need to do to be saved from the lake of fire and the Tribulation?

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ alone, who died for your sins…and rose again bodily from the dead on the third day, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

If you’ve been saved, and are a true Christian, keep this in mind if you choose to engage in sinful activities (James 1:12-15). You will grieve God the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30) and could be chastened severely. “For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives. If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons” (Hebrews 12:6-8). “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap” (Galatians 6:7).

We invite you to consider carefully what the Scriptures tell us about the future.

[4] Make sure of your own salvation (2 Peter 1:10).

[5] Then share the Gospel with others as you are led by God the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14), and as you have opportunities (Galatians 6:10; Revelation 3:8). Treat each day as though it might be your last day on earth or the last day of someone else (James 4:14; Proverbs 27:1).

When “all whom the Father has given to the Son” have come to Him and been saved, Jesus will return for the true Church (not the apostate church – Revelation 17, 18) and make her His bride (John 6:37, 44; Ephesians 5:32; Revelation 21:9; 22:3). Those who will be saved during the seven-year Tribulation (Matthew 24:14) and the Millennium will not be part of the “Bride of Christ.”
