Be Careful Little Children :: By Dennis Huebshman

Going way back to my childhood days, I remember a song we used to sing in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. It’s called “Be Careful, Little Eyes,” and the author is unknown. It has seven short verses that all end with the same message. (any emphasis mine)

Verse one is: “Oh, be careful little eyes what you see; oh, be careful little eyes what you see; for the Father up above, is looking down in love; oh, be careful little eyes what you see.”

From there, it goes to the ears, hands, feet, mouth, mind and heart with a message for each. For the heart, it ends with be careful whom you trust; and with the mind, we’re told to be careful what we think.

Even though this is considered to be a song for children, the message contained in it fits everyone. Just as a child-like message of the “ABC’s of Salvation” makes it easier to understand God’s plan for us, the song gives good advice on how we should live.

The “ABC’s” are presented weekly on a program by Pastor J. D. Farag of Hawaii, available on YouTube. “A” is for “Admit we’re all sinners, as given in Romans 3:23. “B” is Believe that Jesus is our only way to Heaven, as written in Romans 10:9-12 and John 14:6. “C” is Call on the name of the Lord to be saved, from Romans 10:13. Very basic and simple, yet complete instructions for the plan of Salvation.

For the “Be Careful” song, first we look at Ephesians 5:15-17; “Look carefully how you walk; not as unwise, but wise; making the best use of the time, because the days are evil [even more so today than when this was given by Paul]. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”

Using Psalm 119:9-16, “How can a young man/woman keep his/her way pure? By guarding it according to Your word. With my whole heart I seek You; let me not wander from Your commandments. I have stored up Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You. Blessed are You, Oh Lord; teach me Your statutes. With my lips, I declare all the rules of Your Mouth. In the way of Your testimonies, I delight as much as in all riches. I will meditate on Your precepts, and fix my eyes on Your ways. I will delight in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.”

For anyone who was not brought up with Jesus in their lives, Satan goes out of his way to keep them from seeking Him. He makes everything evil seem right in their minds by calling good deeds evil, and evil deeds good (Isaiah 5:20). He knows what emotions to play against and challenges anyone who looks for Salvation with the line, “Did God really say?” It has worked since the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3 and is just as effective today.

It’s no wonder that the Savior knows more will be on the broad path to destruction than on the straight and narrow path (Matthew 7:13-14). There are many good pastors that are trying to effectively present the true word of the Lord; but there are just as many false prophets that are twisting God’s messages to sound like they mean something else altogether.

For example, there are false preachers in some “evangelical” churches that say there are many pathways to Heaven without Jesus. Some are saying that the lifestyles presented by the LGBTQ and whatever are not really abominations to God. There are “church services” that are more entertainment-based than giving the true word. This is because people love to hear “good news” messages that leave out any reference to sin or the coming wrath, as given in Daniel and Revelation. Keeping seats filled and collection plates full are the main purpose of their services.

The false prophets will receive special condemnation. James 3:1 states, “Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers/sisters, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.” I don’t know about others, but I take this very seriously. I have made typos in some of my messages, but I correct them immediately when discovered. The words of the Father are far more superior than anything I could ever come up with, and I strive to quote Him accurately.

Though the evil activity in this world is increasing rapidly, and actions by the New World Order are becoming more obvious, true believers should not be taken by surprise. Anyone who has faithfully read God’s word should be able to see that all the prophecies about end times are here right now. Reading the prophecies is like seeing today’s events in the pages of the Bible. Jesus made this plain in Luke 21:25-26; 28; “And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on earth distress of nations in perplexity, because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, people fainting with fear, and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

All through Luke 21, as well as Matthew 24, Jesus gave signs of what would take place near the end of this age. In 2 Timothy 3, Paul tells us what the attitudes will be, and in 1 John 2-5, the apostle states there would be an increase in activity from false prophets and antichrists. Those who can’t see this are part of the problem. They’re being set up for the 7-year tribulation and the rule of the final antichrist.

The Holy Spirit is also working overtime, compliments of the prayers from those of us who are believers, asking Him to put someone or something in the path of lost loved ones to cause them to seek Jesus. No one will be forced, but if they choose to learn more about Salvation, He will put it on their hearts as to where to get true information. Just sharing messages such as this is one possibility.

To the Father, we are all “little children,” and He wants everyone to come to repentance and be saved (2 Peter 3:9). As stated, He will force no one, but all who choose to call on Jesus will be saved (Acts 2:21; Romans 10:13). This is why those who desire to share the Word of the Lord need to do it with gentleness and respect, and be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks the reason for our hope (1 Peter 3:15).

After all, no prophecy that we share was ever produced by the will of humans, but was given by God through the influence of the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21). Make sure that any “Bible” you read is a true translation and in a format you can understand. There are “faux” bibles that have been produced recently that try to make God “gender-neutral,” and the abominations have been reworded to show them acceptable.

God loves all of His children, but when the time arrives, all who do not have Jesus as their Savior will go into the Lake of Fire forever (Revelation 20:11-15). Hell was made specifically for Satan and his angels (Matthew 25:41), and anyone there will have chosen it.

The end of this age is rapidly approaching, and very soon, the Savior will be calling all true believers up to meet Him in the air in the Rapture. It will be done in less than one second (twinkling of an eye), and only those who have already accepted Jesus will be taken. Make your reservation today, as tomorrow could just be too late. The wrath/tribulation period will be worse than anything this earth has ever experienced. Call today; Jesus is waiting for His children to call.

Amen! Come, Lord Jesus (Revelation 22:20).
