Questionnaire Challenge: Is there really such a thing as a ‘Christian Celebrity’? Think of someone who is an Actor or Actress who ‘claims the Name of Christ’ while at the same time performing in sitcoms, shows, and movies that endorse ‘blatantly wicked lifestyles’ such as Adultery, Fornication, and Homosexuality. What about such a thing as a ‘Celebrity Pastor’ or a Pastor who is also a Heavy Metal Rocker, or a Pastor who also happens to be an Underwear Model? Do any of these ‘oxymoron statements’ make any Biblical or Christ-like sense?
James 4:4 “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”
These so-called ‘Christian Celebrities and Pastors’ often have followings in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, on their social media accounts. Does that not sound like someone who is ‘a friend of the world’? Since so many in the world over-subscribe to them, it must mean that these End-Times ‘earth dwellers’ adore these so-called ‘Christian Celebrities.’
Guess what? The Bible is clear on this topic when it alerts us to the fact that ‘the world will love its own,’ but if you are ‘not of the world,’ then it is evident that the world will hate you. Therefore, how can a person who is obviously a ‘friend of the world’ claim to be a ‘true follower of Christ’ when the Bible plainly states the contrary?
John 15:18-19 “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”
The answer may be found in the ‘intentional blending’ of Darkness with Light. The Occultists often use the colors black and white, which to them means ‘duality,’ as in their belief in the combining of both Good and Evil. In these Last Days, the mixing of the ‘Sacred with the Profane’ along with blatantly ‘Satanic Signs and Symbols’ are everywhere! They are literally displayed ‘out in the open’ for all to see, and it is clear that the occultists do not even try to ‘hide it’ anymore!
Jeremiah 10:2 “Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.”
Signs and Symbols such as the 5-pointed star (the Pentagram) are totally immersed into our culture by now, along with the deeply occultic (Hexagram) symbol as well. Not to mention the evil ‘All-Seeing Eye,’ as well as the Masonic ‘Saint’s Symbol’ (Fleur De Lis), and apparently something called the ‘Witchcraft Spiral.’ For example, Amazon’s newly announced construction plans for a Spiral-Shaped Tower called the ‘Helix’ just so happens to have ‘uncanny similarities’ to the rebellion’s Tower of Babel in the Bible! Truth be told, we have been inundated by all of this ‘sorcery’ for so much and for so long that it inevitably takes some ‘serious spiritual discernment’ to even recognize what these Signs and Symbols are really trying to convey!

Deuteronomy 18:22 “When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”
Recently, several well-known Pastors came out and made some ‘presumptuous predictions’ by stating that ‘God had told them’ that Trump would be President for 4 more years, and some even went so far as to say that Biden would ‘never be in office.’ Of course, we all know by now that these ‘prophecies’ did not come to pass. Sadly, due to whatever prideful reason, many of these ‘Famous Pastors’ did not ‘recant or apologize’ for shamefully ‘speaking presumptuously’ for God. The Bible has a lot to say about such ‘False Prophets.’
1 John 4:1 “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
‘Deception, along with Senselessness and Confusion,’ are rampant in these Last Days as well. Unfortunately, many think that they can ‘stand on both sides of the aisle,’ so to speak, especially ‘senseless young people’ who are confused into thinking that they can support ‘opposing causes’ such as being both ‘Pro-Choice and Pro-Life.’ Um…, no, that is like saying one can endorse the killing of babies and the non-killing of babies. This is in no way sound or rational thinking!
How about millennials who claim to be ‘Heterosexual Christians’ but who passionately advocate for Gay Rights by marching in multiple ‘Gay Pride’ parades throughout the country? This bewilderingly begs the question of why they would even claim to be ‘Heterosexual or Christian’ in the first place! Once again, all of these ‘shades of gray’ blurring the lines between good and evil are sowing nothing but confusion and ultimately does not make any Biblical or Christ-like sense!
Romans 1:28 & 32 “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”
Back to the so-called ‘Christian Celebrities.’ For example, there are two of whom I can think of right now who ‘claim the Name of Christ’ but consistently have no ‘concept of modesty’ whatsoever. These ‘Christian Celebrities’ regularly post inappropriate, overtly worldly, and immodest pictures of themselves, while at the same time quoting Bible Verses along with ‘self-affirming sermonettes.’ All of this only helps to delude their massive following and audience as to what a ‘True Christian’ should look, behave, and act like.
2 Corinthians 6:14 “Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?”
Another example is a well-known Celebrity who claims to be a devout Catholic and who was baptized at the Jordan River in Israel a few years ago. Although I thought it was ‘awesome’ that this person got baptized there, and I think it is good that he seems to be very family-oriented, discernment tells me that this person is really ‘a friend of the world.’ There are countless posts of him with fellow worldly celebrities, calling them ‘friends.’ And when ‘push came to shove’ on some comments he had made about the ‘alphabet community’ and their influence, he ultimately did not stand on his ‘deeply-held convictions’ but recanted his statements instead.
Galatians 6:8 “For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”
Bottom line: Christ-likeness and Worldliness do not go hand in hand; you will either ‘take up your cross’ to deny self and follow Jesus, or you will not so that you can continue being in the limelight and the ‘lap of luxury, fame, and fortune.’ In the end, it is up to everyone to choose if they will either sow to the Spirit and reap Eternal Life or sow to the Flesh and reap Corruption.
Mark 8:36 “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
When I was 18 and living in the city to attend Secretarial School, my prayer at the time was that I could be able to become an Actress in Hollywood. Looking back now, I am so glad that God did not grant my ignorant and ‘spiritually detrimental’ request! That request is right up there with one of the worst things that I could have ever asked my Abba Father God for! It is evident that Occultism, Mysticism, and Satanism are tied to everything that pertains to Hollywood, along with the trappings that come with Worldliness, Fame, and Fortune! That is why watching worldly movies and listening to secular music is so dangerous for our spiritual health and our relationship with God!
So, on this topic of one claiming to be a ‘Christian Celebrity,’ those with ‘eyes to see and ears to hear’ will take pause and consider what God’s Word has to say about it. Everything that comes along in life for the True Believer will go through this ‘wisdom and discernment filter,’ if you will. Therefore, the Discernment filter begs the question, “Is there really such a thing?” The Biblical answer to this ‘discerning question’ through the Wisdom filter tells us, “No, there is not.”
1 John 2:15-17 “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
Until next time… Maranatha!
