US: Kentucky Declared Disaster Area after Tornadoes. The search for victims continues after last weekend’s swarm of dozens of tornadoes in five states. At least four hit Kentucky, including one with a path of over 200 miles, possibly the longest in US history.
US: Yet Another December Storm System: Minnesota Sees First Ever December Tornado, Hurricane-Force Winds Reported in Midwest States (Dec 15). Tornadoes reported in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin—weather patterns highly unusual for the season. Other storm sites are being investigated; possible additional confirmations could be expected. At least five people died as a result of the storms. The system developed shortly after several northern states reported temps as high as 70 degrees F, almost unheard of this late in the year. Liberal media blames ‘manmade’ climate change, which is a load of hooey and phooey.
US Heartland hammered by winds, devastating wildfires. The powerful line of storms that swept through the Plains on Dec 15 fanned wildfires that destroyed homes and ranches in Kansas. Two people died as a result of the fires. Ranchers in Oklahoma and Texas also suffered wildfires. This storm system stands out for the record-setting warmth that fueled it, the number of reports of destructive winds it generated and for spreading severe thunderstorms, including tornadoes, farther north than previously observed in December.
Africa: Widespread floods destroy over 1,400 homes, leave 15 people dead and 9 missing in the Republic of Congo. The affected population is exposed to bad weather, poor hygiene, and waterborne diseases due to lack of clean water. Heavy flooding has destroyed fields and livestock, drastically reducing livelihoods. The government declared a state of emergency on Nov 29.
South Africa: Severe thunderstorms hit Eastern Cape, claiming 6 lives; damaging over 1,000 homes.
Philippines: Super Typhoon Rai leaves 12 dead, ‘widespread devastation’ in Philippines. He also attempted to entice two other children over the internet to engage in sex – proposing a “virtual training session” in a video chat that would involve instructing a mother and her 14-year-old to get naked and touch each other at his direction. He also proposed to the purported mother of a 16-year-old that she take a “mother-daughter trip” to his ski house for sexual training involving the minor.
