Back in 1975, Paul Simon recorded and released a song called “Still Crazy After All These Years.” That was during a time that I was going through some major changes, and though the words of the song didn’t apply, the title fit me to a tee. It would be at least eleven more years before I called out to My Savior to forgive me and become a permanent part of my life. Don’t get me wrong; my wife will attest that I’m still crazy, but in a different direction than before. (ESV – all emphasis mine)
To take everything to heart that is happening in this world without applying a sense of humor to a lot of it will just about drive a person insane. There has been a major shift away from anything to do with Jesus in favor of seeing just how far Satan can make the abominations go. His distortions are working because it’s what people want to hear, not what they need to hear.
One example is the irony of true Christians being called “haters” while the alphabet groups are advocating “free love” in any manner, shape, or form. It’s almost as if Sodom and Gomorrah have risen from the ashes, and all their perversions are somehow considered acceptable. There are even places in this world where parents who try to teach their kids the Biblical truth about love are said to be committing a crime and are subject to arrest.
Crazy? You bet, but the previously “in the closet people” are out in the open, and they are running the show. It’s a prelude to the coming tribulation/wrath period where Satan’s antichrist and false prophet will control the world. That time is approaching faster than people want to admit.
Today, God’s words are being trampled upon as never before. For example, Genesis 1:27; “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 5:2; “Male and female He created them, and He blessed them and named them “Adam” [which was Hebrew for humankind].
Mark 10:6-9; “But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. Therefore, a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
We are commanded to love all our brothers and sisters as everyone has an immortal soul. However, we do not have to accept any actions that are against God’s will. Jesus loved everyone, even though He became angry with the so-called religious leaders who changed God’s word to suit their selfish desires.
This is happening today. There are false prophets that have entered previously Bible-based evangelical pulpits and are twisting the Holy Word. The biggest problem with this is it’s exactly what many people want to hear. They don’t want sermons telling them they are sinners and that they need to repent and turn totally to Jesus. They desire the “ear-tickling” messages that make them feel good along with upbeat music. This keeps the seats and collection plates full. It’s also making the Great White Throne line longer every day.
Believing that God’s word is absolute truth helps me to keep my perspective. Going through the prophesies, all that have currently been fulfilled have done so with 100% accuracy. This tells us that the remaining ones will be completed exactly as the Father said they would be.
What’s left is the Rapture of all believers, the total destruction of Damascus, the attack on Israel, and the rise of the antichrist for the 7-year tribulation/wrath. After this, Jesus will shut down the tribulation and will reign and rule from Jerusalem for 1,000 years. Then, this world will see one more short rebellion, which will be put down, and then the final judgments.
For all who are “In Christ,” this period of time we are going through right now is giving us hope. In 2 Thessalonians 2, we’re told the “lawless one” cannot come forth until the “Restrainer” is taken out of the way. This would be the Holy Spirit who indwells all of the Shepherd’s flock. When the Restrainer is taken out of the way, then the flock will rise up to be with Jesus in the air to keep the Father’s promise to keep us from the wrath.
The world thinks we’re crazy, and that’s fine by me. All through history, God’s people have been “different” in the eyes of the world, and we should be happy to be counted in that group.
Casting Crowns has a song called “Crazy People,” and it fits today’s world so well.
1.) Who builds a boat with no clouds in sight? Who walks up to a giant and picks a fight? Who turns a lion’s den into a petting zoo? Who can have a church in the fire of a furnace? I’ll tell you:
Ref) Crazy people trust in Jesus. Following Him wherever He leads us. Kingdom seekers, walk by faith – Believers. Here’s the Church, here’s the steeple; here’s to all God’s crazy people.
2.) Who brings a Bible into a public school? Who shares a gospel, even when the world calls them a fool? And who’s not afraid to go against the flow? Will cancel me and call me one of those – cause I’m one of those? (ref)
3.) Who sees the world as a mission field? Who talks to Jesus like He’s real? Who believes the words in red? Who says He’s coming back again? (ref)
I’m one of those; I’m one of those Crazy People!
Once again, Romans 10:9-13 gives the simple steps to eternal Salvation. To some, this is hard because they feel there should be so much more in the way of works or rituals that God never intended for us to do. Time is getting short, as evidenced by the signs that were given to us by Jesus, Paul, and others. Every one of them, along with the end-time attitudes, is here right now, and they’re gaining momentum daily.
Remember Luke 21:28, where He said that when all these things “begin” to happen, then look up, for His coming is near. Well, it can be said that the beginning started a few years ago, and that means His coming is imminent. Please don’t miss the opportunity to call on Jesus to be your Savior. Today is not too early to do so, as tomorrow could be too late to be in the Rapture.
Come, Lord Jesus – Your flock is waiting!
