The link to the message is below. (Ephesians 3: 13-20)
When Jesus died on the cross, he showed his love for us. At the end of this article, I will take one of his names, and this name will describe his love for us. His love for us is so deep. His love for us is so unbelievable to me. This message is all about his love for Keith Watts and His love for you. How can mankind describe the love that the Lord has for us? Even after I try to describe his love in this article to you, I will feel that I have come so short of describing his love for us. With the Holy Spirit’s help and the Word of God, I will try. If we could really comprehend his love for us, maybe our love for Him would grow deeper than it has ever been.
HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE FOR JESUS CHRIST? When we see him face to face, we will wish that our love for him here on earth was deeper than it has ever been.
The love stories from the Bible:
Isaac and Rebekah (Genesis 24:66-67)
Genesis 24:66-67 “And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done. And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.”
Verse 66: The servant went to get Isaac a wife. Abraham told the servant to do this. How would you feel if another person brought to you your future wife? This is so amazing to me. As an American, our customs are different than in parts of the world. Isaac fell in love with Rebekah (and he loved her) in verse 67. What a love story this is.
Jacob and Rachel (Genesis 29:11-30)
Genesis 29:20 “And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.”
Wow! What love Jacob had for Rachel. His love for her was so deep; you can see this in their love story. Jacob ended up working 14 years for Rachel to be his wife. What an amazing love story.
Genesis 29:11 “And Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice, and wept.”
This verse shows us how much Jacob loved Rachel. We should love our wives like this. How deep is your love for your spouse? If we would love the Lord with all of our hearts, we would love our spouse as we should.
Boaz and Ruth (Ruth 2:4-15)
What an amazing love story this is. This love story had an effect on you and me. Boaz, a Jew, and Ruth, a Gentile, come together as one in marriage. If you know your Bible, then you know what I am writing about. The Jews were not to marry outside their race. What is so amazing is that the lineage of Jesus came through Boaz and Ruth.
Ruth 4:20-22 “And Amminadab begat Nahshon, and Nahshon begat Salmon, And Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed, And Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.”
Boaz was the great-grandfather of David. That means that Ruth, a Gentile, was the great-grandmother of David. Wow! Thank you, Lord, for loving us Gentiles, with a love that is out of this world.
Another love story: this love story was in Keller, Texas, at Twin Oaks Baptist Church. Ray and Bernice Wheeler never had any children, but they were parents to so many kids through the years. Such a precious couple that loved the Lord with all of their heart. Sister Wheeler had gotten so sick that Brother Ray had to take care of her at home. He went and bought a hospital bed for her and took care of her for the last years of her life until she went home to be with the Lord. There were times she did not even know who he was. What a deep love he had for her. Today both of them are in heaven.
One more love story: Keith and Jenni Watts. I love my wife with all of my heart – in the marriage vows (for better or worse). It seems to me through the years that it has been worse than better, but I am so glad I said I do. I would not want anyone else on the face of this earth taking care of my Jenni. In March of 2015, a doctor damaged my wife’s stomach and bowels. It has been so unreal what she has gone through. I said I do; when I said that, I promised that no matter what happens, I will take care of Jenni. I am trying my best to do this. She is to the point where she has to have TPN every day to keep her alive. There are times I see the pain and hopelessness in her face, and it tears my heart apart. I am trusting in the Lord to heal her, but if he does not, I will keep taking care of my wife as best as I can. I love you, Jenni, with all of my heart. I am trusting in the Lord that life will get better for you than it is today.
I decided a long time ago that no matter what happens in my life, I will serve the Lord for the rest of my life.
You have your love story with your spouse also. There are many love stories throughout the history of mankind. But the greatest love story is Jesus and you. The greatest love story for me is Jesus and Keith Watts.
HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE FOR JESUS?
As an Online Missionary to the world, the love that I have for people around the world has grown so much in my heart. I had told my Pastor that I love the Continent of Africa so much. He said to me, “May God deepen that love.” The Lord has deepened the love that I have in my heart for the world so much. At times, I feel my heart can’t take it. I pray that after you read this article and watch the message, your love for Jesus will grow more in your heart than it has ever been. I know that in my own heart, the love that I have for my precious Savior is deeper than it has ever been. I want my love for him to get deeper and deeper as these last days pass by so quickly.
Let’s get into the message.
Ephesians 3:13 “Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.”
For the American that is a Christian, we look ahead, and we do not like what we see ahead of us. The easiest thing to do is faint. We have had such an easy life. The Apostle Paul said don’t get scared looking at what I am going through. If we keep our eyes on Jesus, he will see us through what is ahead. I believe we will suffer for the sake of our Savior. Are you willing to suffer for Jesus? I’m willing to suffer for my Savior. If your love for Jesus is not that deep, do you think you will be willing to suffer for Jesus? I don’t think so.
Ephesians 3:14 “For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ…”
We need to do this more than ever in our lives. What is it? PRAY, PRAY, AND PRAY SOME MORE. We pray to the Father through our Savior. That is the only way to the Father.
Ephesians 3:15 “…Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named…”
We are a child of the King. We need to act like it. I belong to the Lord, not the Devil.
Ephesians 3:16 “…That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man…”
Heavenly Father, I pray that you will strengthen me in my inner man by the Holy Spirit. I need your help more than ever; in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen! This needs to be our prayer more than ever before. If we do not have the power of the Holy Spirit in our daily living, we’re in trouble.
Ephesians 3:17 “…That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love…”
You are now a born-again Christian. I ask you a question. What is so important in your growth as a Christian? The number one thing is that you are rooted and grounded in love. You need to work on your daily walk with the Lord if you are rooted and grounded in the Word of God and through prayer. Then your love for Jesus will continue to grow each and every day of your life. The Lord can use you in a mighty way if you love him with all of your heart, soul, and mind.
HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE FOR JESUS? I have so much more to write about this message, so I will make this article into two parts.
