The atmosphere in this world is getting darker and darker as each day passes. The absolute darkness will be in the eternal fire that was created for Satan and his fallen angels, as given in Matthew 24:41. John 3:19-21 states, “And this is the judgment; the Light has come into the world, and the people loved the darkness rather than the Light, because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the Light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” (ESV – all emphasis mine)
The Bible is clear as to those who walk in darkness and who they are following, rather than those walking in the Light and who they are following. From 1 John 1:5-7, “This is the message we have heard from Him and proclaim to you, that God is Light, and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with Him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the Light, as He is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses us from all sin.”
The only sin right now that is unforgivable is to pass from this earth without Jesus as your Savior. During the tribulation, taking the “mark of the beast” will also be an unforgivable sin leading to eternity in the lake of fire (Revelation 14:9-11).
In John 8:12, Jesus was very specific; “Again Jesus spoke to them saying, ‘I am the Light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the Light of Life.'” This is followed up in John 11:10 with, “But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the Light is not in him.”
Up until about ten or so years ago, satanic worship was mostly behind closed doors and carried out in secret. Since the beginning of time on this earth, there have been various practices that glorified Satan, and in the Old Testament, we have evidence of our Heavenly Father shutting several of them down. The flood in Noah’s time and then Sodom and Gomorrah are but three examples.
The logical question right now might be, “Why is God allowing all that is happening in the world today”? We’re seeing “trans-everything,” “LGBT” and numerous other letters of the alphabet, a definite shift away from anything to do with Jesus, and Israel being more and more isolated from the rest of the world. Even America, who had been one of their biggest allies, is obviously being shifted away from them. Paul’s list of the godlessness in the last days in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 reads totally about today’s negative attitudes and activities.
In Matthew 24 and Luke 21, Jesus talked about a falling away from the faith and more worshipping evil rather than being saved. In today’s society, we see people who are openly Christian being labeled as “haters” because we won’t accept the evil that is being done. We love everyone for their immortal souls, just as the Savior said we should. We just don’t agree to accept what God called abominations as being the “new normal.”
Luke 21:28 started in earnest around a decade ago; “Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
All who did not do the will of the Father prior to the crucifixion, and all who will not have received and accepted Jesus as their Savior from that time to the end of the Millennial Reign of the Savior, will appear at the White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15). Everyone there will be told of their eternal punishment and then cast into the fiery hell where there will be no light whatsoever.
Going to Revelation 22:3-5, “No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and the Lamb will be on it, and His servants will worship Him. They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.” We will have “Heavenly Sunlight” forever.
Henry J. Zelley wrote a song in 1899 by that title, and it is definitely something all true believers look forward to.
1.) Walking in sunlight, all of my journey; over the mountains, through the deep vale. Jesus has said, ‘I’ll never forsake thee’; promise divine that never can fail.
Ref.) Heavenly sunlight, heavenly sunlight; flooding my soul with glory divine. Hallelujah, I am rejoicing; singing His praises, Jesus is Mine!
2.) Shadows around me, shadows above me, never concealed my Savior and guide. He is the light, in Him is no darkness; ever I’m walking, close to His side.
3.) In the bright sunlight, ever rejoicing; pressing my way to mansions above. Singing His praises, gladly I’m walking, walking in sunlight, sunlight of Love.
We have people today that say things are bound to get better here, but they have not read end-time prophecy. After all true believers are taken up to meet Jesus in the air at the Rapture, this world will become even worse. In fact, it will be more horrible than ever before.
Avoiding this is not hard except for those who believe there’s more to being saved than given in the Bible. Romans 10:9-13 gives the simple steps, and Ephesians 2:8-9 gives us why they are important. Romans 3:10, 3:23, and 6:23 all tell us that every one of us is a sinner deserving to be punished. However, our Heavenly Father wants no one to fail (2 Peter 3:9) and will accept all who truly confess, believe His Son is their Savior, and will call out to Him to be saved.
Right now would not be too early to call on Jesus; tomorrow could be too late as we don’t know the exact time that He will be calling His flock Home to be with Him forever. It’s totally a freewill choice that the Father will not force anyone to make. All who do will be saved; all who refuse will be condemned forever.
Choose wisely; choose today. Your eternity depends on your choice.
