There is a darkness creeping in from just about every area of our world today. The sun may be shining brightly, but the increase in evil and abominations are overshadowing the Light. The pace is gaining speed daily, and we should be aware of what is about to happen. (ESV all emphasis is mine)
More are being drawn to the dark forces of evil than to our Everlasting Light – Jesus the Christ. Our Savior is not the least bit surprised about this, which is evidenced by His statement in Matthew 7:13-14; “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter it are many. for the gate is narrow, and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”
John 3:19-20 followed by John 12:46; “And this is the judgment, the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light, because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, lest his works should be exposed. John 12:46, “I have come into the world as Light, so that whoever believes in Me may not remain in darkness.”
Matthew 5:16, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven.”
John 8:12, “Again, Jesus spoke to them saying, ‘I am the Light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness but will have the Light of Life.’”
John provided a very special accolade to the Lord in 1 John 1:5-7; “This is the message we have heard from Him and proclaim to you that God is Light, and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with Him while we walk in darkness, we lie, and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the Light, as He is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
In 2 Corinthians 6:14, Paul gives us a warning about turning to the ways of the world. “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?”
Going to Colossians 1:13-14, we’re told, “He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the Kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
Ephesians 5:6-10; “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things, the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore, do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of Light, for the fruit of Light is found in all that is good and right and true; and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.”
Needless to say, the Bible is loaded with references to light, the first being Genesis 1:3; “And God said, ‘Let there be light; and there was light.’”
Our greatest nemesis, Satan, is the prince of darkness, and Ephesians 6:12 states, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic power over this present darkness; against the forces of evil in the Heavenly places.”
Even though Satan was cast out of the presence of the Lord (Ezekiel 28:16-17), and the lake of fire has been made specifically for him and his demons (Matthew 25:41), God is allowing him latitude for end-time prophecy to be completed. When the time is right, Satan will be taken completely out of the picture (Revelation 20:10).
All who from creation to Calvary that were out of the will of the Father, and all from Calvary to the end of this earth who did not receive and accept Jesus as their Savior will join Satan in that lake of fire forever. There will be no light in that horrible place, as the Savior appropriately called it, “the outer darkness.” There will be no opportunity for forgiveness or any limited sentences. It’s forever.
For all who were in the will of the Father prior to Calvary, and all who will have received and accepted Jesus as Savior from then to the end of this earth, we will be in the Light with the Light. There will be no need for sun, moon, or any other form of light except for Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
As believers, we pray that all our loved ones, acquaintances, and just everyone we know will be influenced by the Holy Spirit to receive the Light. Charles S. Gabriel (1856 – 1932) wrote “Send the Light” in 1890, and it is a popular hymn even today.
1.) There’s a call comes ringing o’er the restless wave; “Send the Light; Send the Light.” There are souls to rescue, there are souls to save; “Send the Light; Send the Light.”
Ref.) Send the Light, the Blessed Gospel Light; let it shine, from shore to shore. Send the Light, the Blessed Gospel Light; let it shine forevermore.
2.) We have heard the Macedonian call today; “Send the Light; Send the Light.” And a golden offering at the cross we lay; “Send the Light; Send the Light.” (ref)
3.) Let us pray that grace everywhere abounds; “Send the Light; Send the Light.” Ad a Christ-like spirit everywhere be found; “Send the Light; Send the Light.” (ref)
(4) Let us not grow weary in the work of love; “Send the Light; Send the Light.” Let us gather jewels for a crown above; “Send the Light; Send the Light.” (ref)
As the evil continues to increase, we need to look even closer to our Eternal Light for strength to get through these troubling times. We are at the threshold of the worst 7-year period of time this world has ever seen. For the precious true flock of the Shepherd, we will not go through that wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10; 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10; and Revelation 3:10).
All who enter that tribulation/wrath will still be able to call out to be saved, but most likely at the cost of their lives. To choose Jesus today could be the absolute best decision you could ever make. To decide to wait until later could be the biggest mistake ever. Jesus will take your “call” anytime, night or day. God will force no one to choose Jesus as it’s totally a free-will choice that each and every individual must make for themselves.
Romans 10:13; “All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” No matter what you have done in the past, you can still come to the Light for forgiveness. His precious sinless blood covers all the sins this world will ever make, but only for those who will receive and accept his perfect gift.
Call on Jesus – Call on Him today!
Maranatha! (Come, Lord Jesus!)
