Rubber, Meet Road
Well, here we are. Israel and Hezbollah are at war. Not the kind of holding action various Israeli governments tried over the years. In the last year, as Israel dismantled the demon terrorists in Gaza, Hezbollah in the north have escalated hostilities by sending rockets and drones over the border. This has made life for Israelis in their own country unbearable. Many have been displaced all that time.
At the same time, the same old devils of diplomacy—Biden, Harris, Macron, etc.—are operating on their front to shackle Israel from self-defense. They will be judged one day by the Lord of History as harshly as He will judge the foot-soldier terrorists. Terrorism is terrorism.
I just watched “Judgment at Nuremberg” again. I’ve seen it many times. The power of it is that it serves as a conscience for people that do not want to be held accountable. There is a new Judgment coming, and it has to do with how the nations are treating God’s People, the Jews.
And for us believers, that love Israel and the Jewish people unconditionally, we are witnessing one of the great moments in all of history. God has gifted us with that.
The rubber has met the road and we are along for an epic ride, seeing things generations have longed to see. We are seeing the end that leads to eternity.
As to what is going on right now in the Middle East, on September 23, Israel launched Operation Northern Arrows, striking scores of sites in Lebanon and Syria. On the heels of the ingenuous (miraculous?) operation to blow up pagers, radios, and other electronic communications, Israel is now turning her attention to destabilizing Hezbollah as a lethal threat.
The UN General Assembly seeks implementation of Resolution 1701. How pathetic. The resolution is 18 years old! The toothless, immoral international body has not cared to implement it in all that time now wants to. Why? Because Israel is going to finish-off Hezbollah.
Israel expects the Gush Dan region to be targeted but it is also known that neither Hezbollah nor Iran want an all-out war yet with Israel. Which makes Israel’s planned ground assault more important. Once that’s done, there is no going back until Hezbollah goes the way of Hamas.
On September 25, 2024, Hezbollah launched a surface-to-surface missile at Israel for the first time. The IDF reported that a David’s Sling aerial defense system had intercepted a surface-to-surface missile launched from Lebanese territory at the Gush Dan area (IDF spokesperson, September 25, 2024). Hezbollah claimed responsibility for launching a Qader-1 ballistic missile at “Mossad headquarters” in the suburbs of Tel Aviv. According to Hezbollah, Qader-1 is a tactical surface-to-surface missile weighing 2,870 kgs (6327 lbs) with a range of 190 kilometers (118 miles) and carrying a warhead weighing 500 kgs (1100 lbs).
This kind of escalation by Hezbollah is the beginning of what many have long feared: the unleashing of the terror group’s alleged 150,000 rocket stockpile. It has long been believed that an all-out assault would overwhelm Israel and lead to the Jewish state’s destruction.
If you believe this is possible, you’re doing faith wrong. Scripture says otherwise and while that view is considered quaint or flaky or idiotic by the world, I stand by it. Israel is not going to be defeated.
Israel has begun this sort of rolling war effort, finely tuned and planned. They are methodically removing Hezbollah from the scene.
I believe in their ability to do so, based on the strength of God’s Word. He fights for them, as He did in the days of old. Israel is traveling down the highway on the way to eternity. Let’s continue to support them in prayer and in the practical way by not flinching in the face of danger.
Just think about it: you have the chance to actually tell people to watch and see: God protects His people. Then when the present conflict is over, you can point them back to the moment you said Israel would survive. In this way, we are a minority witness to the power and majesty of the Living God.
