The question is are you a true prayer warrior? I have over 450 contacts on my WhatsApp contact list, several of which are Pastor groups. I asked the question, How many prayer warriors do you have in your church and ministry? I had a tremendous response. One of them said they had over 300 prayer warriors. I thought to myself if they had over 300 true prayer warriors and were preaching the truth, this one ministry would turn the world upside down for Jesus.
The easiest thing to say is that you’re a prayer warrior, but to become a true prayer warrior is hard work. What would Jesus’ answer be to this question? Jesus, is Keith Watts a real prayer warrior? Jesus knows if you are a prayer warrior. Like I said in the last article, a true prayer warrior will not tell people that they’re a prayer warrior. Most Christians are praying Christians, but very few of them are prayer warriors. When we see what is going on in this world, we need true prayer warriors more than ever.
Text
Exodus 17:8 “Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.”
Exodus 17:9 “And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.”
Exodus 17:10 “So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.”
Exodus 17:11 “And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.”
Exodus 17:12 “But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.”
Exodus 17:13 “And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.”
Exodus 17:14 “And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.”
Exodus 17:15 “And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:”
Exodus 17:16 “For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.”
Verse 9: Choose us out, men. If you are a born-again Christian, you’re chosen to be a prayer warrior; we are chosen to be in this spiritual battle. You’re chosen to fight. This fight is worth fighting for; we are fighting for lost souls all over the world. Your lost son’s daughters, wives, husbands, and families need someone to pray for them like they have never prayed before in their Christian life. A prayer warrior cries out to God for the sake of their family. That is how you measure yourself to see if you are in the eyes of God a true prayer warrior. You also cry out for others. A true prayer warriors always feel like they need to pray more.
Verse 10: He fought with Amalek. When are you getting in the fight? You have been on the sideline too long; it is time to engage with the enemy. Soon you will not be able to get in the fight because we will be in Heaven (no fighting in Heaven).
Verse 10: Moses said to Joshua, “I will stand on top of the hill” 2,000 years ago, there was a man who died on top of a hill. His name is Jesus Christ; the name of the hill is Golgotha. The name means “place of the skull” in Aramaic, Calvary in Latin.
I keep saying “true prayer warrior.” To be a true prayer warrior, you have to be saved by the blood of Jesus. You CAN’T GO TO HEAVEN ANY OTHER WAY. How are you becoming a prayer warrior for Jesus? Only the blood of Jesus washes your sins away. When Jesus died on the cross, he paid for your sins in full, but you have to humble yourself and receive this free gift. Are you truly saved? I wonder how many read the article on this website but yet they are still lost.
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Verse 11: When Moses held up his hands, Israel prevailed. When Moses’ hands came down Amalek prevailed.
How much more of a picture in the Bible shows the effect a prayer warrior has in this life? It is tremendous. GOD WORKS THROUGH PRAYER. LET ME SAY THIS AGAIN: GOD WORKS THROUGH PRAYER. THE EVIDENCE OF THIS IS ALL THROUGH THE BIBLE. If you do not have prayer warriors in your ministry, you are losing. If you’re not a prayer warrior, pastor, this is why you’re losing. Soon you will quit.
Verse 12: Moses’ hands were heavy. This fight is heavy. Your heart is heavy. A prayer warrior has a heavy heart all the time. Do you have a heavy heart all the time?
Verse 12: They took a stone. Mark 12:10 “And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner.” This Scripture in the Old Testament is Psalms 118:22. Jesus is the chief cornerstone. Is Jesus Christ your foundation? If he is not, how can you be a prayer warrior?
Verse 12: Aaron is on one side of Moses, and Hur is on the other side of Moses. We need to have more prayer meetings than ever. The pastor needs someone to step in and be a prayer warrior for him and the ministry. Will you answer the call?
Verse 13: VICTORY How? “edge of the sword.” The Word of God and Prayer warriors. Ephesians 6:17 “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” There is no other way to have victory in this life. We can only have victory through Jesus Christ. So why is it that all across our country we have so few prayer warriors in our churches and ministries? It is hard work to be a true prayer warrior for Jesus.
Verse 14: Write this for a memorial in a book. So many pastors across the country are quitting. I ask you, pastor, look in the Bible and in your own life and read the victories you have had in. Please don’t quit. Start writing down the victories in your life so you can go back to them and refresh your memory of how good your God is to you.
Verse 15: Moses built an altar. He acknowledged God. Many in the ministry try to lift up themselves and their ministry. We are to only lift up our precious Savior, Jesus Christ.
Verse 16: This is the Lord’s battle. Is he fighting this battle for you? Or are you fighting it yourself? It is time to get prayer warriors in your ministry. I had a pastor in Africa tell me that he had 9 prayer warriors in his ministry. I thought it was so good what he said next. “I am training more of my church members to become prayer warriors.” WOW.
How do you become a prayer warrior?
- You have to become a born-again Christian.
- You have to fulfill this verse. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing.” (Yes, this can be done)
- You have to fulfill this verse. James 5:16 “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much) What does this mean? ( WORK WORK WORK.) Very few Pastors and Christians fulfill these two verses. That is why we need more prayer warriors.
- Get right with the Lord every day. I preached two messages on this.
- Praise and thank him. I preached two messages on this also. Do you ever go before the Lord and don’t ask for anything? You just praise him and thank him.
- Praying and fasting. True prayer warrior fast. This is another reason why I say we do not have that many prayer warriors in our churches and ministries.
- Having an altar (prayer closet) at home. Also a time of devotion with family.
- Intercessory Prayer. Job for his friends, Abraham for the enemy, Moses for the nation. This is a big reason why I feel there are very few prayer warriors. How long is your prayer list? It should be growing every day.
- To get a hold of God’s heart. In the message, I take a look and Moses and Samuel’s prayer life.
- To move the heart of God. I take a look at Hezekiah and Daniel’s prayer life.
Numbers 4-10 are messages that I have preached on my YouTube channel.
Are you going to become a prayer warrior for Jesus before he takes up his church in the rapture? Time is running out so quickly, I can hear Job’s cry. Job 16:21 “O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleadeth for his neighbour!” Wow. Billions of lost souls are saying this same cry as Job did. Can you hear them crying? If you are a true prayer warrior, you can hear them.
