To Heed Or Not To Heed :: By Dave Hubley

Please read the Special Message at the end of this article.

Wars, rumors of wars, nations (different ethnicities), and kingdoms (countries) rising up against each other, severe earthquakes, famines, pestilence, signs in the heavens, rampant sin, hatred in place of natural affection (the love of most growing cold).

Institutionalized, intentional deception has now become the rule rather than the exception: what the modern culture refers to as the “default position.”

God’s Word compares the increasing frequency and intensity of these events to birth pains, which always become more intense immediately prior to delivery.

“These are the beginning of birth pains” (Mark 13:8).

These are the conditions that will be prevalent in what is often referred to as the end-of-days by both Christians and now, very often, those who are waking to the realities of the present day and the consequences of them but don’t acknowledge the fact that they are all spoken of as predictive prophecy in the Word of God (Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21).

I don’t believe there can be any reasonable defense against reaching that conclusion in the affirmative. They are on full display in living color everywhere we look.

Abominable conduct eventually had to replace what was once normal, responsible behavior by legitimate governments and responsible people, and it is well advanced today. The Word of God correctly identifies why this is not a mystery.

“The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)

Some will say that this behavior has always been present throughout history, and they would be right. It always has, but it was once considered to be aberrant behavior.

Now? Aberrant has become interwoven to the extent that it has redefined normal.

Every day. Every minute. Human behavior is now rife with frenetic, rabid, and demonic behavior that is anathema to every precept and ordinance of God.

What would be the result if His Word were followed: Decency and peace.

But there is no peace (Jeremiah 8:14), and decency is becoming increasingly scarce.

How many will heed the signs of these times and understand that there is no human government with all their new “laws” that can repair the damage? The politicians’ answer to everything is to “enact legislation” or “propose new laws” which have no possibility of unwinding the harm that has advanced so far in today’s world.

So, they “pass” yet more new laws and then go home and have a nightcap, feeling very good about themselves. They have answered the call and done their best.

The existing laws aren’t followed, often even by many of those who enacted them, so to think new ones are an answer is a terrible delusion. God knows us so very well.

It is a dilemma because it is the default condition of the human heart.

“So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, To walk in their own counsels” (Psalm 81:12).

As it applies to the American “experiment.”

We were warned early on by John Adams about the requirements that had to be met and maintained in order for our country to survive:

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” – John Adams

In his days, “religious” meant Christian and not the plethora of man-imagined “alternatives” that are not true alternatives but rebellion against the One and Only God.

As a nation, we have failed on both counts, and while there is a tiny chance that the new Trump administration may delay the inevitable, America will ultimately fail. The foxes are not guarding the henhouse; they are ravishing it. And there are oh-so-many foxes.

Crux number one. God’s Grace, Mercy, and Sovereignty: According to numerous sources, there are approximately 1800 +/- prophecies contained in the Word of God, with some saying there are as many as 2500.

Jesus fulfilled over 300 of them in very minute detail.

Many prophecy scholars have indicated that the mathematical odds of one person fulfilling just 8 of the Messianic prophecies is 1 in 10/17th power. That’s one in 10 followed by 17 zeros. That is an empirical mathematical calculation, and it is based on only 8. Jesus has fulfilled many, many more of them. And He is not yet done.

If you search the odds of being hit by lightning, there are a number of different statistics, but here is one to consider: http://lightningsafetycouncil.org/Odds.pdf. One in 1.6 million, it says. Wow! How close is 1 in 10/17 to 1 in 1.6 million?

It doesn’t even start to come close to the odds generated by Jesus fulfilling just 8 out of the 300 or so of the Messianic prophecies directly referencing Him.

For me, the exact number of them is really not critical. As God intended, there are so many prophecies in the Old Testament and the New Testament scriptures that have been fulfilled that the sheer number of them precludes the actual number being of primary significance in every respect, save one:

They could only come from El Shaddai, God Almighty (Isaiah 46:9-10, 42:8-9).

And the balance of them will all be fulfilled.

We should all be careful to avoid missing the forest for the sheer number of trees.

For the unbelieving world: Events over past human history, recent human history, and especially current events are sounding a clear warning for the unbelieving world to pay attention to – if they have ears to hear and eyes to see.

There are numerous references to the above blindness and deafness to God’s Word in God’s Word. In every case, they are a result of willful rejection of the Truth.

For those who believe: For those who have already come to a saving knowledge of the reality of who Jesus really is and have received Him as their One and Only Savior, these events are also sounding an alert. This alert is that His return to remove His church, the Blessed Hope, is very near, and the task set before us is even more urgent than ever (in terms of time). It has always been urgent in terms of His purpose.

When Revelation 4:1 is executed, night will close in on this Christ-rejecting world, and our opportunity to serve the Lord of our Salvation and stand for the Truth will be over.

The 7 years of hell-on-earth, prophesied for 2000 +/- years will then commence soon after the world places their hope in the hopelessness of an evil impostor.

The stage setting of God’s prophecies that is so prolific right now is resulting in a great number of opportunities for us to provide answers for the current explosion of events causing so many references to current events that frequently use terminology like “of Biblical Proportions,” “end of the world,” “last days,” and “apocalyptic,” as pointed out by Pete Garcia’s recent, excellent article: Of Biblical Proportions :: By Pete Garcia – Rapture Ready

We hear “What in the world is going on?” and similar exclamations voiced by family, friends, relatives, and even total strangers…and we can carefully and soberly answer them in Truth and with kindness and Godlike love if we read and understand the Scriptures; but don’t expect it will be easy and, in many cases, it will cost us personally.

For some, the only opportunity they have is to pray: So, my sisters and brothers, pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). You can stay in the fight (Ephesians 6:12).

“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have, but do this with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15).

Crux number two. The only solution: The Word of God has made it abundantly clear that individual humans and human governments will sin themselves into a state of complete failure, and America is no exception.

All the myriads of warning signs are present in abundance and cannot be dismissed except by those who willfully close their eyes and stop up their ears. Sadly, that includes some who call themselves Christians but are not (2 Corinthians 13:5).

Will the Christians of the True Christ-honoring and worshipping Church heed the warning signs and honor their obligation to our Savior to be a witness for the Gospel or, at the very least, a prayer warrior? Not sure what to ask for? (Romans 8:26-27)

Will those who have ignored or rejected Him and His steadfast Word open their eyes and unstop their ears, see the direction this world is going in, heed the warnings, and turn to the Living God and the eternal life He paid for with His own blood?

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).

If you have never put your trust in the only One who can rescue you from this sin-besotted, dying world, you must do so while you are still in your living years.

The special message I promised you:

For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no hope or peace in your life.

You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.

It requires that you come before God on His terms and that you do so in your living years.

And, what are His terms according to His Word?

  • Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
  • Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
  • That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
  • To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
  • Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
  • To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.

God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.

  • No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
  • No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
  • Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.

If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.

“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).

There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.

The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
