Please read the Special Message at the end of this article.
With the increasing instances of “end of days” conversations that take place in these tumultuous times, one of the topics most often mentioned, even by those who are not familiar with God’s Word, is found in the Book of Matthew, Chapter 24.
“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains'” (Matthew 24:6-8).
Parallel passages to this most notable section are also made in the Books of Mark and Luke. When any prophecy is mentioned twice in the Word of God, it is especially significant. This is reiterated a third time. It appears that “still to come” could be here.
“When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, as well as famines. These are the beginning of birth pains” (Mark 13:7-8).
“Then He told them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. and pestilences in various places, along with fearful sights and great signs from heaven” (Luke 21:10-11) Emphasis added.
It is interesting to note that Luke’s account additionally mentions “pestilences.”
Recent events, increases in technology, the worldwide sharing of it, and the stunning levels that have been reached in human arrogance and hubris (that are soaring) have prompted me to ponder what seems to be sober and reasonable speculations relative to the correlation of the end-of-days prophecies above, and the prophecies contained in the Book of Daniel as they relate to the increase in knowledge.
Scholars report that Daniels’s prophecies were written around 536 BC. It is possibly the most maligned and attacked Old Testament book (except possibly Genesis) due to its stunning historical accuracy and confirmation that the God of the Bible is the only God.
It’s mocked and reviled by those who choose to believe that the entire Word of God is not, well, actually the result of the Sovereign Will of God. Perhaps they think that God is not capable of getting His revelation to man “in circulation” and published accurately.
Since I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and the gift of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that He promised, I have become very aware that we humans don’t get to decide how sovereign God is. He has already proven that by virtue of the many other prophecies that have already been fulfilled in minute detail. And He is not done yet.
“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come” (John 16:13) Emphasis added.
Daniel, highly esteemed by God, was given significant future prophecies relative to the “time of the end.”
“But you, Daniel, shut up these words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will roam to and fro, and knowledge will increase” (Daniel 12:4).
“I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, ‘My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?’ “Go on your way, Daniel,” he replied, “for the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. Many will be purified, made spotless, and refined, but the wicked will continue to act wickedly. None of the wicked will understand, but the wise will understand” (Daniel 12:8-10) Emphasis added.
Now to the crux of this article.
This speculative list is, I think, worth considering as we, who love God’s Word and particularly His prophetic Word, seek the same answers that Daniel did over 2,500 years later, knowing that every Word of God will be fulfilled in detail and as described.
What seems really significant is the level of intentional instigation of these conditions by humanity. It seems as though it has become a means of humanity achieving an end that cannot be defined other than by Satan’s age-old lie….you can become like God….
Consider the most diligent and active pursuit of these conditions by humanity today.
Wars and rumors of wars: No speculation required here. Everyday headlines.
Nations (ethnic groups) and kingdoms (countries) rising up against each other. Again, everyday headlines, becoming very frenetic. Satan’s oldest strategy: Divide and conquer.
Famines: It is becoming increasingly obvious that this is being intentionally engineered in order to: “reduce the surplus population.” Slaughtering millions of chickens over one case of “bird flu” when removing only the infected one or ones and letting the rest develop a natural herd (or flock) immunity so the availability of both eggs and meat remains stable would seem more scientific and sustainable. The same things are being done with cattle, and the same principle applies. Engineered starvation?
Earthquakes: Is there an effort to weaponize these natural phenomena? The Large Hadron Collider may actually be an experimental weapon, or it could be for more nefarious purposes. Underground nuclear weapons testing may also be a factor. Either way, humans seem to be determined to weaponize anything and everything.
Weather control and weaponization: Chemtrails, seeding, and other methods that are likely to be employed are becoming widely known. Globally, weather has gone berserk. If controllable, it would be the ultimate “weapon of mass destruction.”
Pestilences: This, along with famines, seem to be the more obviously intentionally engineered in order to satisfy the maniacal agenda of “climate change.” The mantra of this, the most evil of all crimes against humanity and against God, is pushed as necessary to the “saving of the planet” – (population reduction?).
I think the increasing occurrence of “new and more virulent” pestilences is obviously man-made or man-enhanced with the same end goal of population reduction.
Perhaps I am reading too much into the ongoing naturally occurring events (earthquakes, aberrant weather anomalies), but it seems more certain than ever that what has always been “normal” is no longer so, and the “birth pains” will continue to grow.
And then there is AI (Artificial Intelligence). That merits an entire article of its own.
Whatever the cause, these things were clearly prophesied by Jesus Christ Himself to be a clear sign of the “end of the age.”
Perhaps God may not need to cause these things to happen, but instead, just allow humanity to have its wish by withdrawing His hand of control from His created order.
“And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:17).
In His Mercy and according to His plan, man’s reckless drive toward self-destruction will only be allowed to advance so far, and then God will decisively intervene as He promised:
“And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days” (Mark 13:20).
I believe that, according to God’s Word, “those whom He chose” is very simple to understand. It is those who believe and receive Jesus Christ as their only Lord and Savior.
The Gospel, God’s chosen plan of Salvation in Christ for every person who will listen, is very simple to understand if one is seeking Truth and willing to believe.
“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19).
I am ever hopeful that people will harken to the fact that God is being Merciful in these last days by virtue of the preponderance of unmistakable prophetic activity.
“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19) Emphasis added.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).
If you choose to open the door to respond to His call, you must do so in your living years.
The special message I promised you:
For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and therefore has no hope or peace in your life.
You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.
It requires that you come before God on His terms and that you do so in your living years.
And, what are His terms according to His Word?
- Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
- Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
- That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
- To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
- Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
- To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.
God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.
- No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
- No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
- Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.
If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.
“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).
There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.
The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
