It Ain’t Gonna Get Any Better, Y’all :: By Don Twobears

why-godSo many people nowadays openly mock the Lord God and HIS Holy Word to us, the Bible. They want to know why you and I are so willing to follow a God no one has ever seen, why God allows such violence and destruction, why God allows groups like ISIS or Boko Haram to exist and to kill and maim so many people.

How is your day, my friends? Do you have health issues that seem to defy common knowledge and human sensitiveness? How about those everyday issues: You want a good cup of coffee, so you grind the coffee, spend time percolating the coffee and adding the Half-n-Half; and still it’s good, but never the best. Or it could be the new car that you saved for, that gorgeous BMW; yet it must be washed and waxed, and then it suddenly rains. How about that fantastic job you had always hoped for, the Big Bucks and perks, and still there’s always that one individual that makes the days intolerable.

I could go on and on, but I think that you are able to get the drift here: things are never what you expect them to be. That cruise that promises relaxation, to be treated like a King or Queen for seven days, and it ends up being even more work, even hectic to a degree. What happened? How come this?

Many times, I hate to turn on the news channel for fear of hearing something like The Las Vegas shooting or the Sutherland Springs shooting. I am already tired of ISIS and Boko Haram and the like; I am tired and weary of all the Killing in this world, because there is no rhyme or reason for all of this! And nowadays, you are not able to drive anywhere without the possibility of making someone else angry on the road…Road Rage. Your kids are bullied at school…why? And again, I could go on and on…but why? Everyone is already able to see all of this happening.

Allow me if you will, to interject some Scripture to this situation, then maybe you’ll understand.

Matthew 24:37-39 “But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”

This passage of Scripture is telling us that, in the Days of Noah, people were doing all the “everyday things” just as we are doing now. The exception is, those people never gave the Word of God or what Noah told them…a single thought! They essentially blew both God and Noah off! Could this be the exact same situation today? Ya think?

How many people today are spending a great deal of time reading the Holy Word of God, the Bible? How many see that the prophecies are indeed coming true, just as they did in the days of Noah? And we even have people wanting to know if the “story” concerning the Rapture is true. How do we know we are in the “End of Days?” Some people say, “If God is real, then why doesn’t HE come and show Himself?” And again I read…

2 Timothy 3:1-7 “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

I am not saying this; the Lord God wrote this in HIS Holy Word, the Bible. And the Bible has been around for a very, very, long time! My question is this: With all that is happening every day, given how long the Bible has been around thus far, how can anyone NOT know…it was prophesied? They should unless, of course, they never read the Bible.

Keeping this on a back burner for a moment, have you ever considered that you and I are not in control of anything? No one in this world is able to fix what is wrong with us…in this world. Do you see this, or am I the only one? Trust me when I say, Satan and his ilk are working overtime here! What other excuse does anyone have for the blatant disrespect for human life?

No one is sensitive anymore to the needs of others around them; no one cares, no one wants to take a moment to even consider this fact. I refer all to the passage of Scripture above. Is everyone able to say “Cold-Heartedness?”

In this same Book, the Bible, The Holy Word of God, there are answers. Once again, if you never read the Bible, you will never know what those answers are. You must work to read and find them…and it is always best to read them for yourself. Do NOT rely on some pastor or minister to tell them to you. How many of these men nowadays are reliable enough to pass on what the Lord says?

We have so many teaching and preaching the “Prosperity or Feel-Good Gospel” and leading far too many astray. Far too many people are seeking material things or to feel holy as they walk into a church. You’re right insofar as the Bible saying…

Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

The question then becomes, how do you know the Lord is there with you? Is everyone there trying to use God as an ATM machine? Are you truly saved to the Lord? Is HE the center of your life? Don’t know for sure? There may be some issues that need to be taken care of first. It’s important that you know the Truth.

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe this life we are living is NOT what it was meant to be, and then, do you think there is a logical reason for this?

I enjoy saying that this life here on Earth is simply the “Very First Step” that we take as we head into Eternity. This life here is very, very short, far too short for saving wealth, etc. You are here to answer one simple question: Will you follow Jesus Christ…or not? That’s it; there is no more to it. Once that decision is made…or not made…your Eternity is set in motion by the Lord God.

And please note: You have until the second of your death to make that choice. After that one second…it is all said and done, just the way you asked for it to be. Yuppers! It is your choice!

Of course, you can opt to do nothing at all; but know this: if you opt to do nothing, it is the same as saying NO to Jesus Christ. Oops…fouled up again! The Holy Word of God is very specific on this issue; don’t make that mistake.

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

I would be willing to bet there are some who are reading this article that are not truly saved in Jesus Christ. Sitting in the church pew and feeling holy or being a Good Person is not enough. You MUST give your everything – body, soul and spirit – to Jesus Christ, and you must do this in all sincerity! There is NO other way, my friends. I did not say this; God’s Holy Word says it.

If you do not believe the Holy Word of God is absolute Truth…then you’re lost. And if you choose to remain in that manner of being lost, you will see Hell and the Lake of Fire. Again, let me stress, the Holy Word of God says this. Read your Bible…it’s all right there.

For these, “The last Days…The End of Times,” you must know that the end is close and time is short!

John 10:27-30 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one.

John 10:10-11 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.”

And so, as the verse above says, Jesus Christ…God…came and died, so that HIS Precious Blood would cover our sins. That, my friends, is the only thing needed to go and be with the Lord after this life on Earth. If you have never asked the Lord to forgive you of your sins…YOU are in some serious trouble as far as Eternity is concerned, if your sins have never been covered by the Blood of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary. That is the real reason that Jesus Christ came in the first place. That, my friends, is the greatest LOVE there has ever been.

Do not get me wrong here; the Bible is very specific on this. Your sins MUST be covered by HIS Blood; otherwise, you will indeed see Hell and the Lake of Fire. Please re-read the Scripture above. There is absolute TRUTH there…for any that want it.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

I use the King James Version of the Bible, and all emphasis is mine.

Every Question Does Indeed Have an Answer! :: By Don Twobears

The Word of God

Do you have problems in your life? Are you happy or are you something else, a little less than happy? We’re so busy pondering what we think are big questions, giving ourselves over to what we Want rather than what we Need. Does this sound strange to you? Or perhaps it hits home. Don’t feel like the “Ol’ Lone Ranger,” ‘cause you ‘ain’t’ alone in that.

I know many people that have such problems, and I also know that I was once one of them. Trust me, it has nothing to do with your eyesight; your eyes are just fine. The real question is how about “The Intent of your Heart?” No, my Friends, it’s not the heart that is beating inside your chest. “The Intent of your Heart” is about a thought you had and how you decided to act on that thought. Believe it or not, that is the area the Lord pays so much attention to…in you! Again, believe it or not:

Jeremiah 17:9 tells us “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

Wow! If the Lord God says this about us… that’s most profound! Yet that is the center of the target… that’s you and me. So if you’re unhappy, whose fault is that? Don’t you hate it when the Holy Word of God places the blame right where it deserves to be? And yet, my Friends, that is the exact truth of the matter.

“Well… if I had that job, I would be making more money; then I wouldn’t have the problems that I have.” Are you absolutely sure of that? Money has never solved a single thing. Stop and look at the most wealthy people in the cemetery. It didn’t change their situation any. Most never realize that money creates more and more problems; the more you have, the worse off you get! So it must be something more than money… right?

Let’s look at this way: For sure we are not able to see into the future; therefore, we HOPE that our choice fixes whatever our problem is right now. Am I not correct? We tend to look at our past, and we look at the past of others; and then we think… I will go in this direction so I don’t repeat their mistakes. Then we see we have created a whole new set of problems for ourselves that we never saw coming. Oops! (Grumble…Grumble).

What we need is someone that can see into the future and guide us in the right direction… right? It’s that, or we can continue to make poor choices and make that anthill even bigger.

“I want a bigger house, better cars, a bigger bank account…and then…I will be…WHAT? More money, more bills and even tougher bills, more decisions—and it all becomes such a headache! The responsibility increases and you want to make sure no one is able to rob you of all that money. Then the day comes along that you die, and someone else spends all the money you worked so hard to acquire.

Life sure is difficult. Can you say, “I am so weary, so tired of all of this!”

That is the answer to our problems, and it is found in a book that is better than 4,700 years old. In other words, it has been around for us a very long time. So the question is then, how many times have we picked up the Bible, the Word of God to us, and read it? Every single problem we could ever have is in that book, AND it has the answers to them. Wow! What a concept… right?

Jeremiah 29:11-13 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

Of course, my Friends, we must read the Word of God with all sincerity and with trust that the Lord will perform HIS Perfect Will in us. In other words, we must give up what we ‘want’ for what HE knows we ‘Need.’ That is the answer to the problems. “Not our Will…But HIS Perfect Will.”

If we do not understand this and make it a daily practice in our lives, we will fail at life— and we will fail miserably!

So again, we find ourselves wishing for someone that can see the future to come along and give us rest. We find we are weary in this life, because we never understood that this life is to make one decision. That decision is to follow Jesus Christ…or not.

Let me say this: follow anything or anyone besides Jesus Christ…and you’d better hope and pray that you’re happy… because Eternity is a very long time! And your Eternity will be in Hell and the Lake of Fire. Think about it, y’all.

Mark 8:34-38 “And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

“Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”

Well, that answers the questions about this life and even that of money. If it isn’t Jesus Christ, then this life and your spirit is a waste of time. Or do you have a different explanation for the passage above? Trust me, my Friends; that passage of Scripture above is bare-to-the-bone, straight up, straightforward and to the point!

One day, you’re going to ask yourself, “Why is this life so difficult, filled with so much sorrow, so tough and unrelenting?” I have the answer for you:

James 4:1-6 “From whence come wars and fightings among you? Come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”

There’s your answer! It’s written in black and white and in every language. Jesus Christ has ALWAYS been the answer…to every single problem. Take a few moments every day and seek HIM. The passages of Scripture above are NO Lie. They are the absolute Truth.

The question will always be what will you do regarding Jesus Christ?

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
