The Living and Breathing Word of God! :: By Don Twobears

How well are you able to experience your own Soul or Spirit? Do you think this is strange of me to ask? In the Grand scheme of things, it is more important than most would believe. I am sure there are many that have read the story of the ‘Rich man and Lazarus’ in Luke Chapter 16. If you haven’t, then it would be worth your taking the time to read it.

Luke 16:19 “There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day. I have purposefully emphasized the first two words, “There Was,” for a reason. Jesus Christ was telling a story of someone that had existed in this world at one point in time. In other words, this is NOT a parable, but an actual person and event. Let’s move on now.

Luke 16:20-23 “And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.”

This is NOT in the ‘past tense’; it is in the ‘Present Tense.’ The Rich man has died as well and is in Hell. He is able to see things and know them as well; in other words, the Rich man is Self-aware. He knows he is in Hell, in torment, and he asks for a drop of water. The Rich man was always looked after in life, and so now he asks that Lazarus dip his finger in water and then on his tongue to cool it! Stop and think on this y’all; He would have never eaten anything Lazarus had touched, because of his status in life, and then because of all the sores on Lazarus. Evidently, the Pharisees did not catch this as a Story of a current event! Otherwise, it would have had a completely different outcome for them!

It is evident, that the Pharisees did not “THINK” concerning the Story by Jesus. Otherwise, their perception of the story would have had a completely different reaction in them. They would have seen that Jesus Christ IS God in Human form, and was able to SEE all of this. Who else would have been able to do so? NO ONE! This is huge, my Friends, because this is still evident to each of us…Today! The Bible is a real and breathing entity, given to you and me by God Almighty. It is NOT…just some book! We should NOT want to be like the Pharisees; we should see the evidence for ourselves and Believe it!

How many other scenarios are there in the Bible that prove its authenticity? Sodom and Gomorrah, the Birth of Jesus Christ to a virgin, Mary? How about the Crucifixion and then Death of Jesus Christ and HIS Resurrection? Does this make sense to you…NOW? And if you are like me, the Revelations of God’s Word keep on coming and coming. This is absolutely amazing! BUT…how many people are able to see this for themselves? Can you say, this is evidence of the “Wisdom and Discernment” of the Lord?! It literally Blows me away! I have no words to explain it otherwise.

We read stories to children from the Bible…do we see these stories of real people and real events? I am having a difficult time containing myself every time I read the Bible! How much do we miss with every reading because we are not in the correct frame of mind?

So, if we are now able to see the difference for ourselves, what about things like the soon-to-be Rapture of the Church of Jesus Christ?! Jesus Christ was giving us a front-row seat of events that are…right now! Again, may I take you back to the beginning of this article? The difference between your Body and your Spirit? Your body stays right here on earth but your Spirit continues on, as if your death here was just another event in your life. Your Spirit never dies, it never pauses or stops, it continues on and on…for Eternity! Having stated that, where in Eternity will YOUR Spirit reside? Heaven or Hell?

Please, my Friends, read and read this again! Not that I am saying anything but that the Holy Word of God is able to speak to each and every one of us, that it literally moves in our hands! The thing is, Every word in the Bible, every story, is NOT past Tense; it is real Present Tense…as in the Real Truth, right now!

It begs the question, what is Time? Is it as important as we make it out to be? We humans keep referring to time on a constant basis, but on whose timetable? Again, I refer you to the story of events in your own life and how they seem to have taken place just a few days ago. The Rich man is still in Hell, still in torment, and still wants a drop of water! Do you really think that if you disregard Salvation through Jesus Christ…that you will fare any better than the Rich man? YOU WILL NOT!

Heaven and Jesus Christ are absolutely REAL…Right now! And by the same token of speech, so is HELL! And if you do NOT belong to Jesus Christ…HELL is where YOU are presently headed! This is real, my Friends! There is NO doubt in it. The question is…which place do you CHOOSE to go to?!

I Hope and Pray this article helps you to make the same realization as it has for me! It has literally changed the way I read and understand the Holy Word of God. It literally changes the way I view Sin in my life, and I Pray it will do the same for you. Jesus Christ is the only answer there is to our lives, for our own Spirit and where we want to call Home.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Whatcha Gonna Do When the Fun Runs Out? :: By Don Twobears

How odd of a question for anyone to ask…am I right? Horrors…the fun is going to end for me? Many have asked that same question and FEW have an answer. And yet, it is a great awakening for them, because, as we all know, everything is temporary here on earth, in this life we are living. The Bible is very specific about this.

2 Corinthians 4:18 “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

So, the “Things which are seen are Temporal.” Does the world run off what is seen or does it not? You already know the answer to that; in the world, everything is seen, felt, or known to some degree and we rely on that every minute of every day. And though we accept that, we still have accidents, sudden events that take us by surprise, something we usually did not see coming.

Now there are times that we know could be a calamity, but we think we can slip right on by, you know, those calculated risks. You remember thinking to yourself, “Boy…if I don’t get this absolutely correct, I could be in a lot of trouble!” Sort of like, walking a tightrope across the Grand Canyon, if you get my drift. For me, not one of the best ideas to have, but then, there are some that will try it.

So as we think on this, we all see that this life is indeed Temporary. There are some of us that take the time to ponder these things and choose to worry about Eternity more than this life. But what of the majority of people in this life? Do they think and ponder on these things? The simple answer is NO!

Somehow and for some reason, they think bad things happen to others and never them. Is that a slippery slope or what? The thing is, it does not matter what your idea of fun is, one day that fun will end just like everything else in this life. “All good things must come to an end,” as the saying goes. So why do so many people fail to consider that? Why must the fun end one day? The Lord God designed this life we are living to be temporary. His ultimate design is to bring us to HIM and to live Eternity out in Heaven.

Eventually, the day or night runs out, or the money runs out, or the people leave. Suddenly, you’re all by yourself and wondering “What happened?!” And you were not prepared for that big sense of loss; but here it is, and you are wondering what to do next. Come on y’all; we have seen this plenty of times. As long as you foot the bill, or until the food and drink run out, everyone is your best buddy! Can I get an Amen on this?! And yet, as you may notice, the fun has stopped. So does this mean that Fun is temporary?

Besides that, having Fun is a lot of work as well, and it is not always that enjoyable either. There is always a part of it that becomes a real drag, if you will. Maybe you remember that super-duper Vacation you had, but the airports were so busy, people shoving and pushing everywhere. Or maybe it was the high humidity at the resort or on the ship. So many things that seem to try and rob you of your fun. Let’s not forget, that you were so obsessed with having fun, you had to come home to have a rest from your vacation! How crazy is that y’all? And so, we find that this ends as well; it’s Temporary!

It begs the question, why should we spend so much on something that never lasts? Wouldn’t you rather have something that’s going to be long-lasting, enjoyable over and over again? We would rather not remember the work and toil…right? The Bible tells us this:

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

If this life is temporary, then that means Eternity is permanent. It is forever! And how does it work for you, to have the ultimate Rest? Stop and think for a moment; doesn’t the ultimate rest require the ultimate in comfort as well? Is this what the Holy Word of God means? You know it does!

You take a vacation, or suppose it is to be, to rest! To rest from all those work days, to recuperate, to renew those batteries, if you will. We all go on vacation to have fun, am I correct? As a matter of fact, vacations have become big business…right? And they are very expensive to boot, but then, we feel we deserve it! Again, my Friends, all things must come to an end…so what are you going to do then?

Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

There’s your answer to whether or not life is temporary. In other words, y’all…you get one shot at life! Is it really that difficult to understand? A wise man knows how to learn, right? Just remember this: you are the one that chooses where…you want to spend Eternity! Therefore, the greatest amount of consideration should be provided to that end! I am Heaven-bound…How about you?

It is not a stretch for us to want the very best for ourselves, am I correct? So why have so many not taken the time to consider their Eternal Life, which is going to follow this life?! Each and every one of us already knows, this life ends one day, for everyone. All that have ever been born on this planet Earth die one day! Having stated that, what about our Eternity? Where is our final home?

Just so you clearly understand, YOU must choose that…for just YOU. It will be with Jesus Christ in Heaven…or Satan in hell. And should you think you can be sly and not give an answer…well, no answer is a ticket to hell, because you chose NOT to accept Jesus Christ! See there? A choice must be made…by YOU. And again, please remember this, “NO Jesus Christ…NO Heaven!!

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
