The Repentance That Changes Everything :: By Gene Lawley

Repentance is identified in the Bible in Matthew 21:28-31a:

“But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go, work today in my vineyard.’ He answered and said, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he regretted it and went. Then he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, ‘I go, sir,’ but he did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father?’

“They said to Him, ‘The first.’”

The truth of commitment is the action that follows, as in this case. The changed mind resulted in doing the will of God.

Throughout the Bible the sins of man are exposed and judgment is promised to those who practice such things. Repent. Stop doing those things. It is convicting; it makes for good evangelistic preaching for that very reason. People can identify with their exposed actions and even go to the altar in church and make repeated commitments to change their ways.

And many times it does not work. The problem is this: We have done those sinful things because of who we are, as nonbelievers. Why do we do those things? Because of who we are—we are born of Adam, sons of Adam, not sons of God. Ephesians 2:1 says we “were dead in trespasses and sins.” We can’t do any better because we do not know any better.

We must be born of God!

The only effective repentance for the sin of Adam which captivates every mortal human being is…just as Jesus said to Nicodemus…, “You must be born again!”

That is the repentance that changes everything.

Grasping that truth is the key to eternal life as well as living the Christian life as redeemed mortals. Holding a church membership position and having a baptism certificate will not enable anyone to quit, or repent, from doing the sinful thing he does. The issue’s bottom-line problem is that it is not what you do but who you are. Are you a child of God, or are you still a slave to the sin of Adam that will take our mortal bodies to the grave, from dust back to dust, and the spirit and soul to eternal punishment, or, if a believer, to be with Jesus in heaven.

The result of that new birth is told in 2 Corinthians 5:17:

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

The pathway to that transformation is told in John 1:12-13 and Titus 3:5:

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.”

In the passage in John, a truth is found that is important to know. Jesus is God’s only begotten Son, the only Son He ever personally fathered. Jesus did not have a brother named Lucifer, which the Mormons would have us believe. We are given the authority to be sons and daughters of God by adoption through our belief in Jesus Christ. Note in the verse that it says “As many as received Him, (even) to those who believe in his name.” In this case, receiving is believing. More clearly it is shown in Revelation 3:20, which speaks to “anyone” in every place and in every era of time:

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and live with him and he with Me.”

In John 1:13, above, we are told that the one who receives and believes in Christ is born of God, not by family inheritance, nor by his own doing, nor by the actions of another person, but by God.

That is being born again. And Titus 3:5, above, tells us what happens to our mortal being, the changes that take place. In John 3:6, Jesus says, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”  Then, Paul writes this:

“But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him…Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” (1 Corinthians 6:17 and 19).

Paul declares in Colossians 1:27 that it is a mystery, the mystery that is “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

All mankind died spiritually the moment Adam disobeyed God and ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and began dying physically also. He lived, physically, 930 years but had been given the key to eternal life when God took the skins of animals and made coverings for Adam and Eve. Later He gave Moses the answer to that in Leviticus 17:11, that “the life of the flesh is in the blood and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your sin, for it is the blood that makes atonement.”

It was a shadow of better things to come, in that the blood of bulls and goats could not take away sins, as Hebrews 10 tells us. It would take the untainted blood of Christ to remove those sins.  When a person comes to Christ for forgiveness and receives Him, Psalm 103:12 tells us “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”

No wonder, then, that “you must be born again.”

It follows, too, that eternal life must come from someone who has it. If mankind is in the pit of total spiritual oblivion, no one there is able to get him out. Look at the connection of these two passages of Scripture:

Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man” (John 5:25-27).

“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God” (1 John 5:11-13).

The repentance, then, that changes everything, is when one turns from his own way, invites Christ into his life and is given that eternal life as promised. That person then is born again. He moves from the family of Adam’s race and enters the family of God, the lineage of Jesus Christ. The invitation is clear:

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).

The Biggest Conspiracy of All :: By Gene Lawley

You have heard commentators in recent years make a statement beginning like this:  “I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but…,” and then state an opinion on an issue being discussed. Why do they, as do others in such discussions, scurry to disclaim any connection with an idea that could even exist? And in the same vein, why would a radio talk show host respond to a caller on this issue with, “Get off my radio program, you ‘conspiracy theory nut?”

Well, here we go. I am a conspiracy realist. For any conspiracy to exist there must be a conspirator, or conspirators. This article will establish and make known the biggest conspirator of all and the biggest conspiracy of all time and eternity. We will discover his purpose and his agenda, as well as how it is working out today.

The alternate theory is that it is not possible for there to be a widespread conspiracy because it would require secrecy among too many people. Thus that supposition is bought into and produces a denial that does not allow any honest consideration of the facts. Deception is the prime quality of any conspiracy, the absolute necessary characteristic for its existence.

Before time was created by God, the spiritual warfare between God and Lucifer (or Satan, or that great red dragon so identified in Revelation 12), and deception was introduced by that adversary, the conspiracy began. The beginning of that episode and its ultimate end, from eternity to the end of time, is detailed in Isaiah 14:12-15:

“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’ Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit.”

He said that “in his heart,” you will notice—the place where secrets are born and kept. A further detailed account of his aspirations and the related conspiracy is told in Ezekiel 28:12b-19, as Lucifer is personified in the King of Tyre:

“You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created.

“You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; you were on the holy mountain of God; you walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you.

“By the abundance of your trading you became filled with violence within, and you sinned.

Therefore I cast you as a profane thing out of the mountain of God; and I destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the fiery stones.

“Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I laid you before kings, that they might gaze at you.

“You defiled your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your trading. Therefore I brought fire from your midst; it devoured you, and I turned you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all who saw you.

All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you; you have become a horror, and shall be no more forever.”’”

You can be sure his proper destiny is firmly set in place. Meanwhile, he is strangely allowed to accuse the saints and make war with them—we who believe. Peter warns us of him in 1 Peter 5:8: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”

One of the very current deceptions that has confused many believers is the theory that he, the devil, was cast into the bottomless pit when Jesus was crucified. And along with that, they claim that Jesus is controlling things on earth from His throne in heaven in this time of Satan’s lockup. Let’s dispel that false doctrine with facts and Scripture.

First, Jesus died on the cross, according to our calendar, about 33 A.D. and Peter wrote that verse quoted above about 63 A.D. Does the Scripture lie? Certainly not, so the inventors of that doctrine are being used to forward Satan’s deception.

Likewise, in regard to the claimed era we are living in and that Jesus is maintaining His theocracy in the millennium from His throne in heaven, look at the facts:  The wolf is not lying down with the lamb, the lion is not eating straw with the ox, no child plays beside a vile serpent’s den untouched, nor is a person 100 years old still as a child. These are descriptions of conditions on earth during that 1000-year period described in Revelation 20 and Isaiah 65. As someone has said, “Denial is not a river in Egypt.”

False doctrines are tools of the deceiver, Satan, and it is strange that inventors of such will take one thing from the Bible and turn it into a false doctrine, even though a balanced study of the whole counsel of God on the subject would correct it. It starts with a preconceived idea of what the person thinks, and he finds only those Scriptures that support his new theory. He is a tool of Satan, for sure.

When someone says, “God told me in a dream last night that…,” listen for the Scripture that the Lord told him to follow. Paul wrote that the deceiver can appear as an angel of light, and we know of that invention in these days:

“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works” (2 Corinthians 11:13-15).

Let’s lift up an edge of the carpet that covers this conspiracy and see how it is playing out in the “flesh and blood” of our mortal and physical life:

When John saw a beast with seven heads, so reported in Revelation 13:1, he went on to reveal that the dragon he had written of in the prior chapter 12 was the empowerment of the kingdoms that beast represented. These were kingdoms that had ruled the world in their own times. It is not surprising, then, that Satan could offer to Jesus the kingdoms of the world if He would just bow down and worship him, Satan, at the time of the temptation (Matthew 4:4, ff).

Now let’s begin to be specific. In 1820 or so, Nathan Rothschild is said to have stated, “Give me control of a nation’s money supply and I will not care what its laws are.” (Other sources credit the quote to his father, Mayer Amschel Rothschild, but it was said to be the ‘maxim’– principles/rules of conduct – of the House of Rothschild.) Defying him was President Andrew Jackson and later, Abraham Lincoln.

In 1910 high level bankers, businessmen and government officials gathered at Jekyll Island off the coast of Georgia for a week of “duck hunting,” so they claimed. Out of that meeting came the beginning of what resulted in the Federal Reserve Banking System, which became the law of the land in 1913, and Nathan Rothschild had his money supply control, though he had not lived to see it. (Do you see any hints of conspiracy here yet?)

Also, in 1913 we were given the Graduated Income Tax, which became the 16th amendment to the Constitution, right out of Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto. And also, the next year, 1914, World War I was begun after much struggle to get it going. All of these things answer the question: “What good is a controlling banking system if you do not hold any debt power to collect interest; and you need a war to create the debt and a way of taxing the people to pay that interest on which there was no risk taken, for no assets were committed by the bankers.

Remember what Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:12, “For we war not against flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

At one time during those years in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, three men who were relatives of the extended Rothschild regime each held the official position controlling the finances of the United States, Britain and Germany. In order to keep this secret, behind-the-scenes system hidden and intact, one must have an organization of complicit members who also have controlling influence in the banking, business, industry and governmental circles. Thus, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) was organized in the 1920’s as a supposed “think tank” of international leaders in those fields.

A few years ago Dick Cheney, former Congressman from Wyoming, Secretary of Defense, then Vice President under George W. Bush, served a term as chairman of that group, and later commented that he did not tell the voters of Wyoming of that position when he was running for reelection. Somehow that smells of conspiracy that has deeper roots than just what appears on the surface.

When John F. Kennedy was elected president in 1960 he was the darling of the liberals, and they proclaimed the era as “the return of Camelot” with its royal hub-bub. But somewhere Kennedy found in himself the moral integrity to see through the fervor and see the dirty deceit that was working in the background.

He defied them with a major tax cut and issued Treasury-based silver certificate currency not through the Federal Reserve System. (You may recall the five dollar bills, and others, labeled “silver certificate,” but they are no more. Now, they say “Federal Reserve Note,” the others having been called in shortly after JFK’s death.)

In a speech eleven days before his assassination, he spoke of a behind-the-scenes controlling power that he was going to expose before the public. Do you, then, wonder at the Warren Commission report’s conclusion that his death was a one-man job? Anyone who really wants to check it out can find that a wealth of research has been done to pinpoint the actual perpetrators of that blurred exercise in our nation’s history.

It is remarkable how efficiently the Kennedy political threat was eliminated—first, JFK, then Robert’s assassination during the 1968 campaign, then Ted did his own elimination, and then John, Jr.’s mysterious plane accident. He had published a magazine that he had strangely named “George.” Hidden secrets abound.

It brings to mind the assassination of Abraham Lincoln and his issuance of Treasury-based “greenback dollars” to finance the Union’s civil war effort instead of borrowing from the banking cartel.

The CFR organization mentioned above became the feeder group for the late David Rockefeller’s Tri-Lateral Commission, with fewer members but higher-level personnel in the intrigue of international affairs. He made Jimmy Carter its first chairman. Out of that collection of “thinkers” come even higher-level people who meet in early June each year as the “Bilderbergers.” The public and the press have no access, except complicit major media leaders, and the premises are heavily guarded. (A conspiracy must be kept secret.)

In 2008, along came a man named Barack Obama, whom Henry Kissinger proclaimed had been “primed to lead us into a New World Order.” He became president and spent eight years claiming he was a Christian, but never once said any endearing word for Jesus Christ. His favoritism for Islam is very evident throughout his two terms in office.

In international affairs it is clear that America has dominated the world since at least the beginning of the 20th century, so it is understandable that any New World Order cannot be accomplished as long as the USA has its national sovereignty intact. That fact gives substance to the surprising statement made by President Obama at the April 30, 2016, Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C.

Near the beginning of his remarks he said, “You all look great; the end of the Republic has never looked better!” His purpose to destroy the nation’s sovereignty was looking better than ever…he thought. Hillary Clinton was sure to win the election…he thought. But then came Trump, an outsider who knew that faction inside and out. He threatened to “drain the swamp,” and in winning the election, he struck terror in the hearts of those conspirators.

In Luke 17:26-37 Jesus predicted that the Son of Man would return for His born-again believers when the economy is booming and people are busy with business and social activities as normal life. Then suddenly, as a thief in the night, He will call His body of believers out, and sudden destruction will fall upon the world.

Is this the time of the end of days, the time when His opposition throughout the ages will embrace their futility and reap their own judgment?

But believers are “looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ…which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast  and which enters into that which is behind the veil” (Titus 2:13 and Hebrews 6:19).
