War Prep

Due to the spiritual sickness the world over, Israel has been at war at least regionally since May 14, 1948. Even before the state was established, the Arab nation was killing Jews just because they were Jews in Palestine.

I learned a great deal many years ago by visiting the Haganah Museum in Tel Aviv; this is dedicated to the very beginnings of what would become the Israel Defense Forces. The murderous Arab assaults on the Jews of Palestine in 1929 and 1937 were brutal reminders that the Jews would have to fight savagely for their own peace in their own country. And they were the lucky ones; Europe’s Jewish population was about to be decimated by the Germans.

Today, nothing has really changed. That’s why it is vital that Israel maintain preparedness. I remember during the Gulf War…Israeli pilots sat in their planes on the tarmac, for hours at a time. This is the kind of edge they need to maintain if they are to fend-off their enemies.

According to the Jerusalem Post:

“Israel’s Home Front Command and National Emergency Authority (RAHEL) is holding a week-long drill that started on Sunday simulating a large-scale war in which civilians are evacuated from northern border communities and security agencies will deal with massive rocket barrages sent by Hezbollah.

“Following the May fighting, the Home Front Command ‘carried out a very significant learning process with a lot of research, and this exercise is going to test what we’ve learned,’ said Home Front Command Chief of Staff Brig.-Gen. Itzik Bar.

And this was a nationwide effort; the police and medical services are also participating.

Understand this: projections are that with a full-scale war in the north, Hezbollah would send 2,000 per day into Israel. We are talking on a scale that requires intervention by the Lord for Israel to survive. He will, of course.

Israeli planners realize that Hezbollah will concentrate fire on specific areas—surgical strikes near border communities. A second wave potentially is the utilization of shock troops pushing through those weak areas.

Hezbollah leader and psychopath Sheik Nasrallah has threated to hit various plants around the country.

I was struck by how much operational detail was included in the JPost report. It seems to me they are tipping their hand to the Arabs, but what do I know?

For decades, those that love Israel have dreaded a truly modern full-scale war against the Jewish state. In fact it’s almost unimaginable. Recent wars have been traumatic enough:

“The Home Front Command was criticized for its response during the 2006 war with Hezbollah, in which more than 160 Israelis were killed. Since then, it has strengthened its units, and its liaison units are active in hundreds of municipalities across the country.”

All this reminds me very much that those of us on the outside looking in can do our part by praying continually for Israel. Prayer for the Jewish nation in the Bible is a dominant theme: Joshua, Moses, David…all served as a leader for their people, first and foremost in the area of praying for God’s divine protection.

My fellow believer: as Israel faces a multitude of threats, including catastrophic outcomes, pray, pray, pray as never before.

It makes a difference!

Watch Your Back

I have always been puzzled by the worldview of diplomats, to some degree. Most in our world today have zero biblical worldview, which is why the numbskull Oslo Accords have festered for 30 years.

When your philosophy is shaped outside the Bible, you cannot make good decisions based in reality. That explains more than anything else the absolute disaster in Washington today.

Before the coup in November, Donald Trump had done marvelous things for our country and for allies such as Israel. He was quite literally shaping a new Middle East, one based in reality. Now that one of the coup leaders, Joe Biden, is the face of the regime, we are seeing profoundly stupid decisions being made all across the board.

This week came word that the U.S. regime will install a consulate office in Jerusalem for the Palestinians. This turns the clock back years, to the repeatedly failed efforts of Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama. By propping-up a terrorist organization, the PA/PLO, they take away Israel’s legitimacy in their ancient capital.

A piece in the Gatestone Institute explains this all very well:

“Biden plans to open a consulate in Jerusalem. This may seem like just another diplomatic facility to issue visas, promote trade and take care of US citizens, with no greater consequence than the US consulate in Edinburgh, UK. But it is far more than a mere office for paper-shuffling diplomats. It amounts to a de facto US embassy to the Palestinians on Israeli territory. Its true purpose is to undermine Israeli sovereignty in its own capital city and will jeopardise future prospects for peace between Israel and Palestinian Arabs.

“The Palestinian Authority (PA) Prime Minister, Mohammad Shtayyeh, understands the implications only too well. In a recent interview, he triumphantly predicted that the new consulate would re-divide Jerusalem.

“After the US moved its embassy from Tel Aviv to Israel’s capital in 2018, it subsumed the existing consulate in the city to form a single diplomatic mission. This was achieved under the administration of President Donald J. Trump and that, together with a profound misunderstanding of the dynamics of peace, explains Biden’s determination to re-open the consulate. He has devoted much of his presidency so far to undoing everything he could of Trump’s work, with the exception of the Afghanistan debacle, over which he uniquely claims to have been bound by Trump’s previous plans.”

The problem here is, the consulate isn’t a collective effort; it is for the Palestinians. And I would disagree with one word in the Gatestone piece: I don’t believe Biden’s handlers have a “misunderstanding” of the issue. This is an extended problem: not calling a spade a spade. These are totalitarians that know perfectly well what they’re doing. These are left-wing ideologues, in the Soviet tradition, and they very well understand the implications of their pressure on Israel.

I listened with irritation recently to hear retired U.S. diplomat Dennis Ross finally sound tough on these kinds of issues—decades after he helped craft failed policy after failed policy. I consider that Western diplomats and heads of state have Jewish blood on their hands these last 50-odd years. They wouldn’t get out of the way and let Trump finish the job.

Now, Palestinian “leaders” will do what they do best (besides killing Jews): double-down on any real efforts at peace. They will continue working toward the destruction of Israel. Several years ago in the Muslim Quarter of Jerusalem’s Old City, I bought a small refrigerator magnet, a map of the entirety of Israel. It was labeled “Palestine.” Why is even this seemingly little thing allowed by the Israelis? Those items should be melted down and remade into Magen Davids.

The Palestinians have been rewarded for sick behavior and now it will continue. It goes without saying the lawless Obama/Biden regime currently operating at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. is breaking international law, which does not allow the opening of a consulate without the host nation’s consent. One would hope Naftali Bennett, who himself took part in a soft political coup against Netanyahu, will stand up for his country on this issue.

It’s interesting. As we speed toward the conclusion of history, the Washington regime insists on taking us back to the darker days of pro Palestinian diplomacy.

It’s just one more thing they will answer for in the next life.
