Simon Says :: By Nathele Graham

Most of us have played that childhood game called Simon Says. You know the rules. There’s one person who fills the roll of Simon, and whatever he says, you do. “Simon says touch your nose,” and everybody touches their noses. “Simon says don’t touch your nose,” and all hands drop away from the nose. “Simon says hop on one foot,” and everybody hops until Simon says to stop hopping. “Simon says act like a monkey,” and everybody makes monkey sounds and pretends to be a monkey. “Stop acting like a monkey.” Some players stop, but the ones who have paid attention and didn’t hear “Simon says stop acting like a monkey” will keep on being monkeys. It’s a fun game with lots of laughs, but there’s a real-life counterpart of Simon Says that we play every day, but it’s not a game. It’s very serious.

Actually, you can choose one of two versions: Satan Says, or God Says. Every word of Scripture, in its original language, was dictated by God to the man who held the pen. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Because of that fact, you can trust every verse of Scripture, from Genesis through Revelation, to be true. It’s much wiser to believe what God says than to believe what Satan says. Satan’s lies are only designed to draw you away from God.

What might start out as harmless fun can soon turn into a life-altering struggle. A person who has accepted Christ is indwelt and sealed by the Holy Spirit but can still be led down the wrong path by following the wrong directions. Scripture says that there is freedom in Christ, but that doesn’t mean we can abuse that freedom. “All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any” (1 Corinthians 6:12).

So, if Satan says it’s OK to have same sex relationships and be “married,” or choose what gender you want to be, look to Scripture to see what God says. “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them” (Genesis 1:27).

Adam and Eve were God’s highest creation, and He blessed them in marriage. “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh” (Genesis 2:24).

When Jesus was asked if it was allowable to divorce, Jesus referred to this fundamental truth. “And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder” (Matthew 19:4-6).

Marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God, so if you’re a Christian and think “alternative lifestyles” are acceptable or opt to forego marriage vows in favor of “living together,” then you’re playing Satan Says instead of God Says.

Satan says that there are many ways to heaven. This lie has caused the deceived to follow Allah, Mormonism, Jehovah Witnesses, Buddha, yoga, and many more erroneous paths. When Jesus was on His final trip to Jerusalem, He had a very serious talk with His disciples. He told them He was going to go and prepare a place for them but would come again and take them to be with Him always. He spoke to the men who were following Him, but He was also speaking to those of us who follow Him today. “And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know” (John 14:4).

Even though those men had followed him and heard His voice daily, they were confused. It was Thomas who questioned Him. It’s good to ask God questions, but important to hear what He says.  “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6). Jesus says that He is the only way to eternal life. Don’t listen to Satan, but listen to God.

Satan would love for all the world to practice witchcraft and sorcery. Do you follow his voice and participate? No? Do you take drugs? Many people have chosen to follow Satan’s voice and become involved with this evil. A little marijuana may not seem harmful at first, but no good can ever come from following the ways of the world, which is led by Satan. That marijuana easily moves you to more potent drugs, and soon you’re spending every dime you have to feed your drug habit. God’s word tells us that drugs are evil.

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God” (Galatians 5:19-21).

You don’t see the word “drugs” in that list because it’s written in English, but you do see the word “witchcraft.” In Greek, the word is “pharmakeia,” defined as “the use or the administering of drugs; poisoning; sorcery, magical arts, often found in connection with idolatry and fostered by it.” Drugs can open portals for demons to take control of you. If you claim to be a Christian and are dabbling with drugs, beware. Are only illegal drugs a problem? Our pharmaceutical manufacturers are popping out drugs as if they’re in a frenzy. They have “side effects,” but don’t worry, there’s always another drug.

Our children have many, many health issues as a result of government-sanctioned vaccines, but there are always more drugs available to help their ADHD, autism, food allergies, etc. If you ever see the witches brew of ingredients in the vaccines, you’ll wonder how any of our little ones survive. Satan is behind this, and more trouble is in the near future. Have you heard of the Mark of the Beast? It will be required by the man who is pure evil. Revelation describes him as the beast, and that is what he is.  He will do miraculous things, which will deceive people into trusting him, but his evil ways don’t stop with false signs and lying wonders.

“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name” (Revelation 13:16-17).

Satan says that mark isn’t bad, but God says if you take the mark you cannot be saved from eternal death. “And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: and the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name” (Revelation 14:9-11).

Eternal damnation is the price paid for following what Satan says rather than what God says.

Satan is the ruler of this world, but Christians are not of this world. Our directions in life come from God and must be followed. Nothing but evil comes from playing Satan Says. God’s way may seem strict or legalistic, but His ways are in place to protect us from Satan’s lies. It’s incumbent upon Christians to do what God says instead of what Satan says. Scripture was written for a guide to lead us along the paths of righteousness.

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matthew 7:13-14).

People who have not accepted Christ cannot be expected to follow God’s path. They listen to the voice of Satan and follow his directions. They might be nice people, but they have no moral guide. If a Christian strays from the path of righteousness, there’s always forgiveness to be found in Jesus, but we cannot continue to follow Satan’s voice while claiming to be a Christian. God’s voice is spoken through Scripture, and we need to heed His voice.

We who are students of prophecy can see that time is swiftly running out. Temptations will be harder to resist as Satan’s voice is growing louder and more insistent. Listen to God’s voice and follow what He says. God says that Christians will be taken Home in the Rapture prior to His wrath being poured out upon all the earth and those who dwell there. Christians will not be on earth to see the beast described in Revelation, but will have been Raptured prior to the Tribulation. We will be in Heaven with our Lord and Saviour. If you haven’t given your life to Him, or if you have any doubts about your salvation, turn to Him now. If you know someone who is playing Satan Says, rather than God Says, then you need to have a serious talk with them.

Jesus says that there’s only one way to spend eternity with Him, and that’s to follow Him as sheep follow their own shepherd. “My sheep hear my voice and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one” (John 10:27-30).

Those words bring great comfort to us.

If you’re playing a harmless game of Simon Says, have fun and enjoy the game. On the other hand, life isn’t a game. If you’re doing what Satan says, God says stop right now before you’ve forfeited your whole life. “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36).

Do what Jesus says and you will gain eternal life.

God bless you all,

Trust in The Lord :: By Nathele Graham

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

David wrote many psalms, and each one shows that he depended upon God. When he faced trouble and persecution, his faith would not be weakened. We need to learn from his faith.

“[[To the chief Musician, a psalm of David.]] In the LORD I put my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?” (Psalm 11:1).

This Psalm begins with a statement that every Christian needs to take to heart. Put your trust in God. Life throws out many problems, and situations can scare us, but if we put our trust in the Lord, we will have a foundation for making correct decisions. David was being persecuted and his friends advised him to run for the hills. David trusted the Lord, so running away wasn’t an option. Persecution always separates the strong from the weak, and David was strong because his strength was in the Lord.

“The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower” (Psalm 18:2).

Is God your strength? Do you trust Him, or have you put your faith in human understanding? Draw your strength from God. He will never fail. David would not be swayed from his faith in God, and he refused to run and hide. Stand strong, brothers and sisters. Our strength is in Jesus Christ, not in this evil world.

“For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart” (Psalm 11:2).

There were wicked people in David’s time, just as there are wicked people today. Need I name names? Satan has always given ammunition to people who are willing to work his will. He gives them fiery darts to fling at us, and his weapons will increase in size and power as his evil is allowed to control people. Satan’s arrows are propelled by people who act as his bow… by those who have rejected God’s truth for Satan’s lies. His favorite targets are Christians. His goal is to destroy our faith. God has given Christians weapons, and we need to stand and fight.

“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked” (Ephesians 6:16).

Will you allow Satan’s fiery darts to cause you to run and take shelter in enemy territory? If your faith is in the Lord, then you have a shield of protection. Study God’s word and apply it to your life. In that way, you’ll learn to depend upon the shield of faith. Study prophecy, and you’ll understand what’s happening today and will make decisions based upon your faith instead of irrationally following Satanic lies.

“If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11:3).

Foundations are extremely important to the support of a building. If the foundation cracks, then the building will begin to sag and fall. The liberal masses, led by Satan, are attempting to destroy the foundations of God’s truth. They undermine Biblical authority by mocking God’s covenant of marriage, by forcing the lie of evolution to be taught in schools, and they’re hacking away at the foundations of America by ignoring our Constitution. God will not hold back His wrath forever.

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness” (Romans 1:18).

God will pour out His wrath on all who have rejected and mock Jesus Christ as they promote sin and unrighteousness. Christians have given in and believed the lies of the secular world, and the foundations of morality have disintegrated. Truth has morphed into a lie.

“Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things” (Romans 1:22-23).

Because Christians have allowed the foundations of truth to be corrupted, God has allowed evil to grow strong. That evil is manifest in sin.

“Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves” (Romans 1:24).

Marriage between a man and a woman is a sacred covenant… a basic foundation of humanity. The liberals have destroyed the foundation of marriage and bring Scripture into question. God says not to kill, but abortion kills babies. Those little bodies are used to make vaccines, which we allow to be shot into our own bodies, and the result is disaster. Health problems, such as ADHD, food allergies, autism, and other major illness is the result. What can the righteous do? We can keep our faith strong and not be swayed by Satan’s fiery darts. God’s truth is the only truth. Stand on His word.

“The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD’S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men” (Psalm 11:4).

The Lord is on his throne, and we get a peek at that throne in Isaiah chapter 6 and Revelation chapters 4 and 5. Both Isaiah and John saw incredible sights in Heaven. Living creatures surround the throne, which praised Him day and night. What a glorious sight to see! Christians will see that sight. What John saw was after the Rapture, and there were 24 elders before the throne, which weren’t there when Isaiah had his experience.

“And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold” (Revelation 4:4).

The elders represent Christians. I look forward to the day when I’m before that throne praising my Lord and Saviour. The glory and splendor described there is what Jesus left in order to come to Earth to purchase our redemption. When He gave His life for me, He put His own blood in the holy temple that’s also in Heaven.

“For it the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Hebrews 9:13-14).

When things get frightening and Satan seems to be winning the battle, remember that God is on His throne, and His eyes see everything and will judge the wicked. Be sure you’ve accepted His sacrifice before you stand before Him. You want the righteousness of Jesus Christ to cover you.

“The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth” (Psalm 11:5).

David was known as a man after God’s heart. That doesn’t mean he never sinned, but it does mean that he was repentant of his sins. He had his share of testing and trying, but everyone is tested at times. Our attitude in those trials can make us stronger or cause us to grow weak in our faith. God doesn’t ignore the plight of those of us who walk in His ways but is always with us. On the other hand, the wicked will be made to pay for their wickedness. They have the chance to repent of their sin and accept Jesus for salvation, but they need to let go of their hatred, sin, and wickedness. There’s only one way to be forgiven of sin and find salvation.

“I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:5).

No matter how wicked you’ve been, forgiveness is waiting for you if you repent and ask to be forgiven. Only Jesus can forgive your sin. Turn to Him and turn away from wickedness.

“Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup” (Psalm 11:6).

So often it seems as if wicked people who are ruled by Satan are winning. They hold high political offices and seem to have everything money can buy. Very soon, the wicked will be judged. Fire and brimstone will just be a portion of what will be rained upon the earth and upon everyone who has rejected Christ. God’s wrath will be poured out upon all who have followed Satan. Prior to the Tribulation, Christians will be Raptured. While we are around God’s throne, all Hell will be happening on Earth. This is a blessing for Christians, but God doesn’t want anyone to face those final seven years. God wants us to witness to the lost now. It’s our commission, directly given by Jesus, to spread the Gospel.

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).

Wicked people can turn to Jesus for salvation, but they have to hear the Gospel. Brothers and sisters, spread the Gospel.

“For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; and his countenance doth behold the upright” (Psalm 11:7).

This fact guided David. He knew that God saw his actions, and he desired to please His Lord. When he stumbled, he went to the Lord and asked forgiveness. As Christians, we need to guard our ways. Our righteousness is only through Jesus Christ.

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Without Him we are as wicked as the worst sinner you can think of. If you’ve accepted Christ, His righteousness has been imparted to you. Out of gratitude you need to serve Him; out of gratitude you need to share the Gospel.

We must remember that the enemy we fight isn’t people. The enemy is Satan and his minions.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).

Study the verses which follow and understand the spiritual weapons which God has given us. Put on God’s armor and do not take it off. As Christians, we know the supernatural world is very real. We serve God and know that He is supernatural and completely good, but Scripture tells us of the dark side of the supernatural world where demonic entities dwell. If allowed, they influence people to do wickedness, just as the Holy Spirit will influence people to do God’s will. As Christians, our fight is against satanic powers, and our battle is lost if we fight without the power of the Holy Spirit. Don’t flee as a bird from the fight, but put your trust in the Lord.

The world is falling apart. America has been dealt a hard blow from Satan. Those who serve Satan tolerate everything except God’s truth. Christian values are being sorely tested, and our faith is being challenged. Study Scripture, including prophecy. Satan has taken control of the weak-minded, and he will continue to attack the righteous. David would not be swayed from his conviction that the Lord was where he placed his trust. Our strength is in Jesus Christ, not in this evil world.

God bless you all,
