Fallen angels do control empires, nations and territories on planet Earth under the leadership of the devil, who is the ruler of this world. Every nation, city or small town has felt the demonic undercurrents of Satan’s wickedness. He is now in the process of gathering together the nations of the world for the final, great battle against Christ at Armageddon where he will be defeated by Christ Himself and his reign of power on this earth will permanently end. The prophet Daniel recorded some of the struggles between God and the devil on the earth:
“But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.
Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come.”
Then he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? And now I must return to fight with the prince of Persia; and when I have gone forth, indeed the prince of Greece will come. But I will tell you what is noted in the Scripture of Truth. (No one upholds me against these, except Michael your prince” (Daniel 10: 13-14; 20-21).
The apostle John wrote about the devil’s strong grasp on this world:
Jesus answered and said, “This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake. Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Mysel” (John 12:30-32).
And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged [the devil]” (John 16:8-11)
Paul the apostle spoke of Satan’s hold upon the world:
” But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age [the devil] has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them” (2 Corinthians 3-4).
“And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience” (Ephesians 2:1-2).
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places”(Ephesians 6:12).
