The Lord made a promise to Solomon that we can still apply today. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” We are called to pray.
Sometimes the problems that we face individually and as a nation are so great that it seems there is nothing we can do. What a perfect time to turn to the Lord! When there is no hope, when it seems that all is lost, when the future seems certain, that is miracle territory!
When it seems impossible to even pray, you can ask the Lord to give you the clarity of thought and the wisdom to be able to pray. Express to Him that it is hard for you, but out of obedience, you are bringing this difficult issue to Him. Eventually, you will see the roots of anger and despair begin to melt away and, in their place, you will find sprouts of hope.
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16)
