It seems that teenagers have become unreceptive to God’s call. They are often a part of such despicable actions of hatred that they are avoided at all costs. But, opposite of that are the teens who so ache to be a part of the kingdom of God that they stream to the altars at youth rallies all across this country. But, we don’t hear about those teens because those events don’t make the nightly news.
One thing is sure: They are on a search. They are searching for significance, acceptance, love, hope and an identity. Often, they look for these things in gangs, drug use, violence and hate groups. But, sometimes, when Christians answer the call to reach out, they find all of those things in the Lord.
Please pray for the youth of this nation. Ask the Lord to reach them before it is too late. Pray for their salvation and their well-being. Most of all, ask the Lord what He would have you to do in the lives of the teenagers you encounter. Remember, even if they have purple hair, piercing and tattoos all over their body, and spout hate everywhere they go–Jesus died for them, too.
“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works” (Titus 2:11-14).
